Listen to an excellent podcast on Spotify called Life Goals with a guy called Theo Delaney which is a bit Desert Island discs except it is celebrity football fans giving their eight best goals and a song to go with it. Just dropped an episode with Irvine Welsh which is very funny and well worth a listen.

Sounds like a cool concept for a podcast. I’ll give that a listen 👍

Was funny with his story about Jimmy O going into the refs room at half time at the seven nil game telling him to only count second half goals if they went in off the post. :faf:

I was at the meal beforehand he mentioned, and sat directly in front of him at the final, i'd no idea he'd taken an extasy pill near the end of the match, although he did try and pick me up at the final whistle, he'd not attempt that without some sort of substance help. :greengrin

Really enjoyed that. Some laugh out loud moments and some great nostalgia.

Always thought he would be the ideal guest for that podcast so pleased to see him finally get booked.

Also good to hear on quite a public platform the Old Firm being criticised for monetising the sectarian divide for their own (substantial) gains. A point the media in Scotland prefer to just have a blind spot about and pretend doesn’t exist.

The story about Alan Gordon and Tom Forsyth is an absolute cracker :top marks

He perfectly summed up the aftermath of 2016's perfect moment there for me. We'll never get that high again. Football completed.

I never thought about it that way but I suppose it would explain my absolute apathy towards the great game.

However saying that and although it would never have the same significance I really want us to win it again and whilst we’re dreaming I want us to start dominating the Edinburgh derby.

I would love to see us go on an unbeaten run in the derby and see how their support respond regards support and sticking by their club like we’ve had to endure.

Agreed. A weight was lifted that day. I’ve certainly noticed a difference in my feeling towards football since.

This sounds worth a listen, but don’t have spotify. Do I need to download it and find it (sorry, I’m clearly old, eh) or can you post a link to it ?
