The Club's statement tells us that 14 players have managed us permanently. I've got to 12.

I know I'll be missing some obvious ones, or maybe some old ones. This is who I have:-

Yes he played for Hibs.

David Gordon played for Hibs from 1916 -1919, then managed the club from 1919 -1921.

Jonny Halligan ? was manager of Hibs for 2 months having played for us in the 1920's I think he's normally seen as a caretaker.. but maybe becuase he was in charge for 11 games he counts ( won 6!)

Like you Crops I thought that McCartney had played for the club as well, but it was a different Willie McCartney who played but broke his leg before the 1902 Cup final. Which of the current referees would make a good football manager?

Pretty sure our Willie McCartney and his father also managed Hearts

Interesting wee aside about the Willie McCartney that missed out on a Scottish Cup winners medal in 1902 he made his Scotland debut in Belfast in March 1902 in a 5-1 win and the strip that he wore was auctioned for 5k earlier this year

Interesting in that it is a black and white hooped spiders top ( Queens Park ) with the lion rampant hand sewn on

The only time Scotland wore black and white

McCartney would make a full recovery and go on to win the league with Hibernian the following season and has been described as a fine forward going on to play for Man Utd and West Ham

Of all time since the rebrand or currently in post? I dont have the station mindset but from a Premiership perspective if anyone matches McIness in post at Aberdeen I'd be surprised. 7 or 8 years
