For those of a certain vintage, this was and still is the pinnacle of the whole movement. Sadly I missed it, did anyone on here go?

i came across the video below which is the only live footage from the gig, apparently they are making a film from it!

The crowd goes totally mental throughout, and what I liked was that it was before everyone spent a gig with their phone in the air!

Hope someone out there enjoys this as much as I do… Just watched the Weekender video again too…. Time flies….

They should've stopped making videos after that Weekender effort, pretty much perfect.

Maybe one for the Dug-out forum though.

Strange I always liked the Stone Roses but at the same time always thought Ian Brown was a smug twat. Great band though.

I was there, a group of us hired a minibus, was pretty messy.
Can't remember much really, pretty chaotic, huge queues, poor sound quality, huge loved up crowd.
Great times.

I'm a little bit like this, they're one of my favourite bands no doubt, I saw them live loads of times, but I've never liked Ian Brown.

I never really liked the Stone Roses. Most of my friends got hooked in and I just half heartedly played along in the guise of a fan out of an obligation because everyone else was!

It was a great time to be late teens/early 20’s, and we saw most of the Manchester bands from the time that followed on from The Stone Roses. None of us went to Spike Island but most of my mates went to the Glasgow Green big top show.

My attention at that time was being drawn towards the techno from Detroit and house from Chicago & New York that was starting to make an impact and on UK shores.

The highlight of the early 90’s by far was undoubtedly the Skol Cup triumph in ‘91..!

Served him once when I was working in a restaurant in Edinburgh around 2001, he was a miserable moaning toss pot.

Great band though and produced one of the best debut albums of all time.

I saw Ian Brown in Glasgow years ago. Rangers were playing in the champions league that night, maybe v Man U as that would make sense, and he gave a score update inbetween songs. Then I’m certain he followed it up with “no surrender”. No one in the crowd batted an eyelid, yet me and my mate looked at each other at the same time clearly thinking we both just heard that. Very random, but will never know if that’s what he said or not.

Legendary gig that unfortunately I didn’t manage to get to.

Best band ever. Some awesome melodies!

Saw them live and Ian wasn’t at his best to say the very least but Christ what an atmosphere!

I had tickets but changed my mind about going and sold them to a mate. I normally don’t get hung up if i have to miss something but this one hurt for a while.

First albums still up there as one of my all time favourites but preferred Happy Mondays at the time.
