I remember this guy when from when we stayed in Bruntsfield for a while. Anyone come across him recently? Pretty obvious he led a difficult life due to significant mental health issues and used to create sprawling dens built from stuff he'd taken from charity bins, skips etc. My sister still stays up that way and says to claim he was 'much loved' is stretching things.

Lots of people are threatened by folk leading alternative lifestyles, even when they are totally unthreatening. Nice guy, he spoke to me a few times and he never made much sense but i probably wasnt making sense to him either. RIP Jim.

Spoke to him a few times. I always forgot how hard it was to get him to stop talking after you’d engaged with him! Nice enough guy though, and always seemed absolutely harmless from my experience. RIP

He was a bit of a pest in that once you engaged with him he wouldn't leave you alone but he was a harmless sort. I suppose his mountain of stuff might have been a bit irritating if you lived nearby and had to pass it everyday.

I'd be interested to know his story and how he ended up living the life he did. I think he was a chef at one point but was already roaming the streets when I was school age so that must have been some time ago.

Acht. I've spoken to him a couple of times (at length. As Pretty Boy says, once he had a hold of your attention he wasn't letting go :greengrin) He had a lot of pre-occupations - not enough bacteria in our diets, and too much sugar being pumped into us by corporations - and quite a few conspiracy theories on the go, but he was friendly and pleasant. RIP, Jim.
