Just wondering if anyone has one of these and where the best place to get a decent selections of Torps is? Got a Heineken but pretty meh. Managed to pick the machine up itself for a tenner so thought I'd give it a go.

Looked on beerwulf and not work it fir the price of postage.

Depends what side of Edinburgh you're on but the Day-Today Express at Wallyford usually holds an excellent variety of torps.
Top tip, keep your torp in the fridge or stick in the freezer for a few hours before sticking in the sub, I find the sub itself takes forever to cool the beers down.

Cheers, had it in the fridge. However seems ridiculously frothy when coming through the tap.

If it’s anything like the PD then the first pint is really frothy, make sure your pulling the handle right the way down and pour a full pint (it’s easily cleaned up!), it’ll also be more frothy if it’s not cold enough

I heard on a Facebook page for the PerfectDraft machine that torps were being phased out. If I recall correctly it was a torps owner asking if the PD was any good.

This used to do my head in. Best solution I found is to stick your glass in the freezer for an hour or so, first pour is a nightmare so just pour a wee smidgen into a normal glass then leave the machine for 5-10 minutes, settled beer in the line seems to help this. I then have pretty much a perfect pour by doing this. You will get the odd ones that are frothy no matter what, like your Belgian Blondes and anything over 6% really, although they are supposed to have a relatively big head on them. Make sure when you start pouring to pull the tap down fully and quickly and have your glass at a 45 degree angle.

Yep it is being discontinued. They say kegs will continue for up to two years but the selection has been rubbish for a while. I have a PD and a sub compact. The sub is pretty crap in comparison to the PD. Frothy as anything (and not just the first pint like on the PD). We were only really using it for cider as you didn’t get the froth but ours is knackered now anyway. Won’t always chill the torp and sometimes won’t stop pouring.
