Covering their backs.
Have they got a date for the hearing of there charges? I think they know they are going down pep after winning the league made enough noise about him being nearly finished there to make me think he’s covering his back
Problem is they could give City a 50 point penalty and they'd still stay up haha. This is going to go on for ages, will be dragged through the courts.

Free's Pep to join us and then we will see how good a manager he actually is when he doesn't have money to throw at his problems

Had £50 with skybet, 25/1 is decent odds the authorities might catch up with them. :greengrin

What odds are they to win it? 😂

At half time and 2-0 down yesterday, City were still shorter odds to win the game than Utd were before kick off.

I had Man U at 8/1 - glad I stuck a few quid on it.

No chance Man City will be relegated next season.
They've had their lawyers delaying any hearing to date and, even once that is heard, there will be appeals to further delay any punishment so it won't be resolved by next summer.

It may not be resolved by next summer, but it will get resolved. Pep is hinting that he's not extending or renewing his contract which is due to expire June 2025. And coming out with he is finding it "hard to find the motivation". I think it's more likely he knows what's coming and doesn't want to be the captain standing on the bridge of a sinking ship. It may not be next season but it is definitely coming. They will be Servco 2.

What do the 115 Man City charges mean?
Effectively the charges allege that Manchester City cheated.
We only have the information published in Der Spiegel to go on, but the charges identified allege that:
For nine years to 2017, the club did not provide accurate financial information about their revenue.
That from 2009 to 2013, they didn’t give full details of how much they were paying their manager.
From 2010 to 2016 they didn’t give full details around payments to players.
From 2013 to 2018 they didn’t comply with UEFA FFP regulations.
From 2015 to 2018 they didn’t comply with the Premier League’s PSR rules.
And finally, from 2018 onwards, they did not co-operate with the Premier League’s inquiry.

In a fair world that would be relegated to at least the fifth tier, owners pull out, back to mid-table mediocrity at their absolute best.

Agreed but I'd also strip them of their titles without passing the trophy to the runner up. Leave a gap in the historic record to highlight their cheating for all to see.

Manchester City could of course just be the tip of iceberg. Essentially they are the tip of the City Football Group pyramid. Surely there has to be serious questions regarding the integrity of City Group as an organisation.

Without checking, I think that’s what was done with the Juventus titles from their doping scandal, titles vacated without being re-awarded

Yeah that's what usually happens. I doubt it will here though I think a points deduction from the point of the outcome is the norm in the Premiership

Inter got one, other was vacated.

Good to know that there is a precedent for vacating the titles.

I don't think 115 charges covering nine years and compounded by non-cooperation is the norm though.
