"Best away fans: Despite honourable mentions to the likes of Ajax, Lille and Olympiakos, Hibernian's away fans were on another level to any Premier League visitors. Their rendition of Sunshine On Leith when the score over two legs was getting ugly was one of the true highlights at Villa Park this season. A credit to their club."

That's pretty much our greatest achievement last season. When 8-0 down.

It’s hardly a shock Villa thumped us, they nearly went all the way in Europe and are now in the champions league after finishing 4th. Great team and manager, our level is so far below there’s that the score hardly raises and eyebrow as annoying as it was at the time.

Ahh that's nice. You would like to think our new standing section would bring some of that enthusiasm to Easter Road on a more regular basis. Could start by including non Block7 folk who want to stand behind the goals through banging out a few Hibs standards instead of mindless drum banging and a load of generic 'ultra' chants for 90 minutes that nobody else knows the words to.
Oh, and ditch that bloody green and white striped flag ... all it says to me is Celtic.

I've supported a standing section behind the goals for years ..... FFS make me proud :greengrin

Yeah we have a good support with a whole days drinking - if we have a big support at an away game

Those Villa fans that think we have a good support would be miffed to see one of our home games outwith a derby or European game

Hopefully Hibs can give us more to cheer about next season

My 1st away European game I’ve been able to attend. Just a fantastic day mixing with Hibby’s throughout the town all day then being part of an incredible away support during the game. Made me extremely proud to be a hibs fan that night.

After getting hugely excited about a glamour trip away to play Villa, it’s not a game that ever registers with me now and it’s as if the thing never really happened.

Our group missed out on tickets in the lottery and had to cancel our hotel booking. After the first leg mauling I couldn’t help thinking on way home that we were perhaps fortunate to have missed out!
Watched on TV but it’s never the same engagement as being there. Switched it off at end and pretty much forgot about it.

Nice of them to say that and they're not wrong, our support were outstanding.

Even so, watching my team get beat 8-0 on aggregate is not an experience I enjoy. I'd much rather we'd drawn someone else.

I guess if you weren’t there it would be hard to remember it.

It wasn’t a classic for my first away game in Europe. Being that it wasn’t abroad and we were in the home end. Added to the fact that I was at work that day before picking the kids up from school and heading up the road. Never felt like a European game for me.

I kind of get where the other poster is coming from.

I was there and it was a brilliant trip but it did feel a bit weird with the football being so irrelevant in the end. Luzern away a couple of weeks before much more memorable for me.

A brilliant trip away with brilliant people. I’m surprised I remember it so well, the game was preceded by one of the longest single pub sessions I have ever been a part of. :greengrin

Out of all the teams we could have drawn it had to be Villa. Champions League team now. So unlucky. Would have had a good chance of the group stages against a team of lesser quality i reckon.
