We always seem to leave things late. There's always people on here who say "good players don't become available till the end of the window". Nonsense get in quickly identify who you want and get it done! Yes a player might pop up at the end who you wouldn't expect, but we should not be waiting for these players to fill key positions in the squad.

I had been fearing for what the start of the new season may have brought but I'm a bit calmer with Malky appointed (leaving aside the controversy associated with that) and the decision having already been made to punt Monty.

It means we're on our way towards being ready.
