What's peoples views on Malcolm McPherson ?

Should he remain or should he go ?

Should he fall on his own sword ?

Hibs are in a terrible state just now. A club who at least on the playing side are abysmal.
Hibs seem to be sinking fast. We never hear from him. Have I missed something? Is he ever on tv or radio. Does he do interviews?
Does he engage with the fans ?

What are the good things he does ?

The conversation always seems to be about managers, CEOs, Directors of Football and for heads to roll.

Are people beginning to think we should be looking further up the chain to see where the weakest link is ?

To be honest aligned with our current ownership and CEO structure the Chairman is basically a ceremonial position.

He’s a non-executive Chairman - how much influence on the playing side do you think he has?

He did an interview with the Hibs Observer just last week.

We've just appointed his pal as Sporting Director, the most influential role at many modern football clubs, maybe more influence than we think?

Why so many questions?

I guess Malcolm McPherson is the new go to focus for anger and angst? Ben will at least be happy it's not just him in the crosshairs.

If the club had given us something to be happy with or celebrate over the course of the season I'm sure we'd complain less. As it is a couple of games very early in the season was about it!

And I'm normally a happy clapper!

He appears to be much more involved in the day to day than he was when Ron was still around.

We already are looking further up the chain, it's our useless owners that are the issue.

He wasn't chair then. Ron was "executive chairman".

Malcolm is non-exec.

I've always got on well with him. Is his tenure not up or at least that was what someone told me. There are plenty executive positions to point fingers at.

I can’t be arrrrrrrsd but perhaps some one would like to do a fantasy Downfall tribute in the style of Eddie Turnbull’s ghost going ballistic at the season we just had…

Using Pika, the AI that people use to make those 1950s Panavision videos, you could actually make this with Turnbull’s ghost replacing Hitler

Only thing I've heard from him was a complete shocker of an interview last week. Basically said the fans are wrong to not want malky and it was depressing, when there's obviously some very legit points being made on both sides.

Felt like he was totally dismissing the fans thoughts on it if it didn't match his own.

Not a great first look but not judging on that alone, will need to see/hear more.

Unbelievable luck for Hibs that the best person for the job just happened to be close on a personal level with the chairman, one can only wonder about the numerous other clubs who were after such a talented individual

Or.....the guy we thought was the best fit for the job took it because he has ties to our Chairman?

Ken, it's almost not like Mackay hasn't a long football pedigree including a four year stint as performance director at the SFA or anything. I'm sure being an acquaintance of McPherson didn't not not help at all.

It was also a coincidence, if the story is true and given everything else I see no reason why it couldn't be, that McDermott is quite good pals with Lee Johnson's dad

Pedigree is doing a lot heavy lifting there

Or maybe Macpherson had nothing to do with Mackay's appointment? Maybe Macpherson is leaving.

Have met MM a few times in his present and his previous tenure. He's a big Hibs guy in stature and person.

Happy that he has influence on the Board. We need more Hibs people running the club.

Not sure it is tbh. He's ingrained in scottish football and hugely experienced in English football.
