I thought this may benefit with a separate thread but with Lewis and Paul leaving the club, they were the last two members of the 2016 Cup winning squad who were still playing for Hibs.
Really marks the end of an era completely.

Boyle and Newell will be the oldest players next season at 31 and after Sunday will be 2 of only 7 players over 25.
A real changing of the guard. FWIW they are letting Hanlon leave a year to early at only 34. Madness I tells ya.

Ahh nuts, I was so caught up in the emotion of Lewis and Paul leaving that I forgot Boyle was in the squad
So Martin Boyle is the last player……..lol
What a fanny I am
He's here!

I know he left for a wee while but Boyle was a sub that day and is still at ER.

I'm quite surprised they announced their departures then sacked Montgomery. Does that mean it was the club's decision rather than the manager's? As you say, a new boss might very likely want to have considered keeping Hanlon for one.

Now I feel old.. reason I signed up here was to view photos of the east being built.. is it me or is the roof of the east slightly higher than the rest?..

I think it was a club decision with Hibs looking to get players off the wage bill and the low hanging fruit for that is not to renew contracts which are expiring.
As such 10 players finish up on Sunday, 5 permanents and the 5 players on loan plus Tait is already away to Falkirk on a permanent.

Marshall would have done this. Not for Hibs of course.

Who are the 5 permanents? I can only think of four - Marshall, Hanlon, Stevenson and Le Fondre?

The 5th is Robbie Hamilton who was on loan at East Fife.
Robbie is 19 and was a member of the great development team that took Dortmund close at Easter Road.
