I thought he played well last night , he's a player that I think as a lot of potential and one I'd like to see back at us if possible .
Even a season loan deal would be good though if Sunderland were willing to part with him a permanent one would be better .
Think they paid about 300k for him , I do think he would give us a good option as a DM in our team .
Any of the rest of you would like to see him back or not ?

No thanks, he's had the odd good game, but paying a fee for a guy, who hasn't been good enough to play many weeks when we've been this poor would be a daft move.

Would take him back.
Good centre mid that will only improve.
Was brilliant against rangers too.

I don't think he's done much wrong and has mostly been really good when played in midfield. Terrible centre-half though.
I'd take him back on a loan or a permanent if he was cheap which he won't be.

Haven't seen much of him so haven't really formed an opinion one way or the other. But I wonder if his relationship with Montgomery was a big factor in coming here. Would he be keen to come back under a different manager not even knowing who that is at the moment?

Showed the importance of having someone with presence in midfield, we’ve been far too easy to play through in recent years.
We really need to stop the negative chat about players. A blind man can see from his appearances at DM/CM that he is calm, good with the ball at his feet and has many years of development ahead of him.
I always laugh at the notion that the player we are yet to sign is going to be far better than the players we have. Getting him here next season would be a shrewd move.
We have really lacked skilled physical players in midfield but with Nectar and Nathan in there, I can see the start of a younger, tougher engine.

Not for me. How many errors has he made. Even if playing in midfield he can still make the numerous errors he's made at corners. A couple good games against poor sides or in meaningless matches doesn't change anything for me.

Big physical laddie who can do the defensive side and has decent passing ability. I really like him as a player and would be happy if we could get him for next season.

As a DM not many. When played as CH a lot. Was the standout player last night against a Motherwell team who obviously didn’t get the memo that it was meaningless, which it wasn’t as the higher up the league, the more money you get.

I'm all for giving players chances and also thought he was excellent last night but that doesn't change that we need better. The whole reason this squad is so bloated is we keep handing out deals/ signing players off the back of a couple of good performances. We should be aiming for better in my opinion.

No thanks, too slow.
He was chasing a Motherwell player in the second half last night and Maolida ran past him like he was standing still to put in a great slide tackle.

He’s made a few - it’s a fair point.
Can they be coached out of him though, or can he learn with experience?
The penalties against Celtic and Rangers were both a bit clumsy but potentially just part of a learning process.
He was excellent last night and has been generally, consistently good in midfield, even if I thought he got a bit tangled up with Joe Newell at times during the first half of the home game against St Johnstone.

Can't remember the games but he also completely left his men twice for 2 goals.

Take him on another season long loan. Only going to improve and don’t think he’s had a bad game when playing as a sitting midfielder.

No chance he'll be back here next season. He's a CB who cant defend who has somehow ended up in midfield. No thanks.

Yeah, I only remember the St Johnstone game because it was the only time he’s been less than brilliant in midfield.
He’s definitely not impressed me at CH though and has been at least partially responsible for quite a few goals in quite a short period of time.

I think he's had a nightmare of a time here. Would not want him back. Yes he's looked decent in midfield but he's not been outstanding and he was brought in as a CB.
Directly responsible for a silly number of penalties and goals in his 6 months here. He's just another Joe Newell type when he plays midfield.

He's not been brilliant in midfield now has he?
Just looked back and he played 5 games on the bounce in March. Rangers home and away being two of them. He did ok at Easter Road, nothing more IMO.
3-0 game at home to Livvy he was good. Other games being Ross County away and St Johnstone at home where it was widely accepted we were awful for the opening 45 in both games.
He's been average in midfield IMO. Awful at CB. Would rather we spent our budget elsewhere than have this guy viewed as a backup CB and an option in centre midfield.

I liked the way he held off his man and kept moving with the ball several times.
I don't think he is a good passer of the ball and his pace was tragically exposed a couple of times running back towards his own goal.
But - I think there could be a place for him in the squad. I would have him about next season it it was an option on the same terms.

I thought he was good in those Rangers games - Rangers have given us a bit of a pasting in midfield in recent years, in those games we were much more competitive than we have been.
He’s started in 2 of our better home performances of the season there.
St Johnstone - not so good, but when he went back to CH we were still at 0-0 so it wasn’t disastrous, or one that he couldn’t turn into a good performance.
I definitely wouldn’t be having him back as a CH but that’s really not too bad a run of games in a struggling team in midfield. Not “break the bank, sign at all costs” stuff but I wouldn’t be unhappy seeing him back, competing for a place in midfield. Sunderland may have other plans for him though.

Couple of the pens are harsh to say it was his fault, he hasn't really had a nightmare of a time either and he is nothing like a joe newell type player, couldnt be further away from playing like each other

He turned 21 last week. He's got real stature, good feet and likes to find a forward pass.
We’re not on the championship this time, when we bring in young players, thier inexperience will sometimes be exposed.
I think the fact him and Campbell played ahead of much more popular alternatives tells us something about how SDG has seen them in training compared to Monty and Sergio.

I like him as our deepest midfielder. He also received the ball and drove past/held off a couple of Motherwell players last night which is a crucial component in a good midfield.
I think he and NMW have the raw natural ingredients to compliment each other if their rough edges can be polished. Put an attacking midfielder in beside them, not sure if that’s Amos but probably not, and could make a solid and competitive midfield next season IMO.

I wouldn’t be spending money on him, but if we could get him on loan again as a midfielder I’d be happy to see him return.

He looks far more suited to midfield though and you have to remember he's just turned 21 so i think the potential is there that he will get even better.
He's big and strong which is something our midfield is lacking in , we are going to need a DM next season also and if a deal could be done i wouldn't be against him coming back either permanently or on loan rather than taking a chance on another player who might work out or not . I think he'd be a good option for us in we know what we're getting .

The guys a player. No doubt about it. Done very well in midfield last night. Calm on the ball and wanting to play forward at every opportunity. Hopefully we can keep a hold of him but can’t see it

He has played very well in midfield and if he is a decent price and wage then I think he would be a sensible signing as long as we are playing him at DM. If we signed him as a versatile player and stuck his name against CH as well to save buying a proper CH then it would be a no for me. With Hanlon leaving and likely Fish too we probably need two LCHs(rocking horse poo) and a RCH. Triantis is a different type of midfielder to the other players on the books and that alone has value.

Never a centre half but he’s had some good games in the middle of the park. He actually looks like he can do a bit of everything in there but I like that he wants to play forward whenever he can, even from deep.

Would keep him but only as a DM
Rocky Fish Hanlon and Obita were always ahead of him in my eyes at CB
Has put in a couple of decent performances at DM and looks a good fit with Newell Campbell and MW
Only small criticism needs about 20 minutes to get going so needs to get focused and in the zone from kick off
Had a good game latest at Ibrox apart from that free kick where bizarrely Monty took him off probably because he had been booked but was causing them problems and was very effective
Dessers did run away from him a couple of times early doors IIRC

I wondered if he was more used to playing in a back three? Very comfortable on the ball for a defender.

Lots of decent touches. The problem with videos such as these is they typically ignore what a player does off the ball and against Motherwell that was probably more impactful than anything he did with the ball. He added much needed presence compared to Aberdeen game when their midfielders ran through us at will.

I’d definitely take him as a holding midfielder
Him with Newell and Levitt further up would be my combination just now with what we have. I’d give that a go on Sunday at some point

It got lost a bit amongst everything else that was going on but he played an exquisite long ball over the top of the Motherwell defence immediately after he went on the other night.
I’ve been very critical of him… but it was a moment of class.
