Lee Johnson blew the budget on development players? No, he didn’t. That was done under Maloney, and it wasn’t Maloney that blew it.

Montgomery came in and quickly identified that the majority of the squad was nowhere near first team ready for Hibs. Yet they finished 5th just a couple months previous, qualified for Europe and defeated a very decent Luzern side.

There was no budget for him in January, yet we signed two guys who we’ll be paying an absolute fortune by our standards. He credits Montgomery with identifying Marcondes despite the fact Marcondes has said we were after him before Montgomery.

References to ‘the same players who continuously under achieve’ despite the fact there’s only 7 players who have been here since before LJ. Two of them are about to leave the club as absolute legends.

We tried to sign Marcondes last summer, before Montgomery, so it’s no as if he’s just come along and decided he wanted him.
