Hard to be confident we'll strike lucky this time based on the club's track record of appointing managers in the Gordon era.

After publicly announcing a review of the footballing department which involved keeping the manager in place, only to then sack him a few weeks later, im going to go with no.

After Maloney, Johnson and now Montgomery we have to hope that the Black Knights will be in charge of this search..

I took it to be a review where Top 6 had been NM's minimum target, he had missed the target, and that his position was being reviewed
2 defeats (including Saturday's spiritless performance, and zero tactical changes or shape changes to even attempt to fix things in-game) were enough for anyone to see this club (and maybe this league) is just too big for Monty at this stage in his career.

I fully expect they will be.

No, not at all. It’s actually quite scary, given how bad recent appointments have been.

No we absolutely cannot if it is the same people doing the appointing. Honestly, we have to hope they either just get lucky or have by this stage become self aware enough to realise that they don’t know what they don’t know and seek help elsewhere.

Appointing a manager at our level is never an exact science. You are probably looking at a guy who has a failure or 2 on his CV, someone who has done well at a lower level and is looking to step up or someone right at the start of their career. There are always likely to be misses.
We are embarking on what should be an exciting time and the issues with the manager, and arguably the boardroom, are somewhat tempering that excitement and casting a long shadow over the club. That is why for me we have to minimise the risk as much as possible and go for a proven manager at the level, the proverbial safe pair of hands.
First choice would be McInnes, he's the stand out manager in the league. Has regularly achieved or exceeded what you would expect from his teams and has Kilmarnock punching well above their weight this season. Comfortably 4th and have lost less games than anyone bar Celtic and Rangers. He may be unrealistic for now so the next option would be Robinson. Again a manager who has a team punching above their weight and has vast experience of the league and what is required here.
Now isn't the time for an exciting youngster doing great things in Tajikistan. It's about a solid appointment to get the new era off to the right start. If we go back to basics then we will minimise the room for error and have a far higher chance of getting it right. It's time to forget about showing how clever we are and just do the obvious.

No, they haven’t got a ****ing clue.
Hire a manager with a particular style of play when we don’t have players that suit, and wonder why it doesn’t work.

Must admit though I quite like the thought of Deila
Has won in Scotland, showed at that stage he still had lots to learn (meaning Rodgers & Ange improved Celtic remarkably after him), but he's gone on to manage 2 good clubs in Belgium with success (he just left Club Bruges) and before that he had success at New York City (ie part of a similar consortuim group of clubs as the BK model)
He'd be getting a phone call, to assess his interest levels in the job, if I was Bill Foley

No, I have zero trust that those in charge will select the right man (who is Derek McInnes).

Aye I could live with that. He's not some daft experiment and has an understanding of the league.

I agree, like the thought of Deila.
One thing is for sure, if it didn't work then that would confirm what many of us have worried for some time - that the issues at Hibernian run deeper than the manager. Deila is a proven manager in this league and elsewhere, it should work.

What puzzles me is who have the owners been taking advice from over the last few appointments. They had no background in football so where did these managers names come from. Who put forward Montgomery-the owners would have known even less about Australian football than they did about the UK.

Nothing is ever guaranteed with players or managers unfortunately.
What we should stop doing though is sacking managers who have shown they can do a good job when we hit a bad patch. Bad patches happen and can be worked though. NM doesn’t fall into that category. He didn’t show anything.
