I have no doubt that we will see Hibs lowest home gate for a considerable number of years on Wednesday night I’ll be their only to say my fair wells to Hanlon and Stevenson great servants to the club. It’s a terrible state of affairs to see the club in such a mess. The owners chief executive kennel, McDermott are more culpable than Montgomery as they appointed yet another dud of a manager. Unless we get major change new ownership we are heading towards relegation similar to Butcher time.

I live in people will attend in spite of their true feelings. The send off might help offset those who don't want to set foot in the place after Sunday, so might be a similar turn out.

Did they get about 5,500 for their testimonial? At the lower end of the most pessimistic guesses, might not be too far away from that...

What was the crowd on Sunday, there wasn’t anymore than 10000 Hibs fans in the ground

It will be as low as we've seen for a league match in many years. Which will be a shame for Hanlon and Stevenson who deserve a decent send off ... but it is what it is.

A far bigger worry is what sort of crowd we will see for the first league game next season. Short of a massive show of intent in the summer and the signing of some players the fans recognise the names of and we absolutely know Hearts and Aberdeen would love to have signed we won't shift many season tickets.

The best tribute the club could pay to Hanlon and Stevenson would be to leave them out altogether on Wednesday.

Have them present the match ball, farewell wave to the crowd them they can disappear for duration of game.

For their contribution to the club over all this time, they don’t deserve to be put into what could be a toxic environment for their final game.

It will be busy as it is every year if at home, and if away, a bumper travelling crowd will be present.

Probably about 9000, with 1500 in the away end.

You seriously think if our first home game of the season is against for example Motherwell, we will match the 17,500 plus we managed against St Mirren in last years home opener if we have the same manager and we haven't signed at least ( at the very least ) one 'statement' player? Really?

Last season we had Lee Johnson who everyone was wanting shot of. Maybe Montgomery will be in the dugout for the start of the next one, but the following year will be somebody else. First games of the season always see a spike of enthusiasm and hope.

Will be spending all summer looking forward to the return and a fresh slate. Chances are, like most seasons it won’t be great, but I don’t support Hibs because they’re great.

I sometimes think back maybe it because it's years ago, but it seemed to be a happier support in those days, nostalgia eh 🤔

At least we had a team we could have some affinity with. They might not have been very good but at least there was a fair sprinkling of home grown players who knew what it meant to play for Hibs.

That is a good point. In the eighties we weren't very good, and that is being kind. But what I don't remember is coming away from games thinking that they hadn't tried or that I am completely disengaged from the team. And not everyone was a Hibby either. I'm not sure that many of them who come to our club get us at all. I saw a quote from Jock Stein about celtic but frankly it applies to us as well. "Hibs strips are not for second best, they don't shrink to fit inferior players". The charlatans who have been throughout club should be made to understand what Hibs is about as soon as they land. Some of them will never play for a bigger club in their careers. It seems that the tarts manage that, they drum into them that beating Hibs is the be all and end all, fight for everything.

Yes your right, I've a lot of affection for a lot of those players, I wouldn't miss a game at ER then, now don't miss it at all.

Looking at seating map sales - looks similar to yesterday.

Whether or not ST holders turn up or folk are severely fed up and give it a miss is another matter.

There used to be a belief that things could and hopefully would get better in the 80s and 90s. At the moment there seems to be a real death of hope based on the fact the club just aren't listening.

There will be between 6k and 7k at the game I'd guess. Most only there for Paul and Lewis.

I'm still incredulous that Montgomery wasn't sacked or resigned today. It beggars belief he is still in charge.

I stayed and clapped but it was for hanlon. I think the number of people leaving about the 70min mark may have played a factor in Stevenson not getting on.

You could clearly see during the game that some players just couldn't give a **** ( emiliano being one)

Listened to the terrace earlier and even their surprised at how **** we've become

If we had any home grown players good enough they would be playing. Talent is hoovered up now by bigger clubs than Hibs and it leaves us with a worse academy. Even the big English clubs are scouting up here from Under 9s.

There could be an argument for getting rid of our youth academy as it produces zero players in the last few years.

We did well in the under 19 Champions League. Unfortunately Ethan Laidlaw is at Brentford and others either aren’t ready, been injured or are loaned out. I’m disappointed a couple of youngsters haven’t featured on the bench ahead of dross like Jair.

Not going on Wednesday. I’ll watch it but I want to make a small point by not attending. Haven’t done that since Williamson was manager.

We are obviously wasting vast sums of money on the Academy then. Surely the “big “ clubs can’t hoover up all the talent or is our scouting system as bad as our first team recruitment?

Will attend but only to show respect to two club legends. They deserve a decent send off, both were parts of Hibs teams that gave us some of our and our greatest moment.

For that as a Hibs fan I feel I owe them that.

Most of the rest can **** off and leave and I’ll not really remember them until watching some random lower league EFL game they come on as a sub and I say “oh aye, he used to play for us, he was *****.”

The paltry crowds we'd attract for some games (quite often less than 5k) illustrated how far (and how quickly) we'd fallen from the Tornadoes days but you're right, those who pulled on the shirt in the early to mid-80s were never short of commitment. They just weren't a very good team. You just need to check out some YouTube highlights from back then to see that.

Simon Murray reminds me of that era in the way he plays. Gives his all from start to finish.

Could always start Stevenson and Hanlon so they can get their deserved ovation when the substitutions are made and they could perhaps both play their final game together at Easter Road. You know that you will get a 100% effort from both of them. The result doesn't really matter now as the damage has been done.

Not sure about that…

The only thing which has happened is the obvious thing which should have been done months ago.

Once a new manager comes in maybe depending who it is and who they bring in but not gullible enough to suddenly think everything is smelling of roses.
