Well that's one take on it.

Quite disturbing that he seems to have accepted somebody like her with open arms.

We will do anything to get into government, even if that means morphing into the 2012 Tory party.

That Sunak has completely lost control of all sides of his party.

She won’t be standing in that seat at the next election and I can’t help but feel
It’s added pressure to call an election before he’s kicked out.

it's absolutely essential that the Labour party splits at some point IMO. There is no sense in which they represent working people.

That'll need to wait for a while. People just want the Tories out.

Define working people. I’m never too sure what people mean by that these days. :greengrin

Starmer will argue that unless he can portray the party as a broad church Labour will never get elected again. After the last general election I though we were looking at at least another two electoral cycles rolling by before we saw them as serious challengers again, it’s remarkable how quickly they have got their act together. I won’t be voting for them but they will win the election.

Not sure what the worker is either. The median average salary in the uk is £35k although the top 1% take 10% of the money. If you take them out it's £28k, it's about 5k higher for both if your just including full time workers.

We are a wealthy nation and are very fortunate hence some people risk theirs and their children's lives to come here. It could be a whole lot more equal though obviously

I didn’t think a Zionist supporting, genocide apologist could do any more damage but it appears I was, sadly, way off the mark.

Clearly shows Starmer is a “Red Tory”.

If he’d appointed to deputy leader someone who would struggle to vote for the gay marriage laws or the gender identity bill, then they would really be a progressive, left leaning party.

And no I’m not agreeing with Elphicke, I’m opposed to her views. I do however find the SNPs choice to attack this somewhat hypocritical.

Jamie Driscoll was an incumbent Mayor, but barred from running as the Labour candidate in the next election, allegedly because he had dared to share a stage at some point with Ken Loach.

Meanwhile, a right-wing nut job, stop the boats campaigner that tried to influence the judge in her husband's trial for sexual offences (of which he was convicted) is openly welcomed by Starmer, in a joint photoshoot with compulsory Union Jacks.

Don’t worry. She’ll be gone like the darkness at dawn before very long.

haha, that's amazingly hard actually, i've typed then deleted about 4 attempts...i think i was probably referring to 'people like me', i.e. care workers and the like...but i suppose in a way i probably mean 'employees', which includes a lot of wealthy people. so i probably should have said 'most working people', or at least 'those on lower incomes'.

yeah, he'd say that, but he's now completely contradicting himself in not letting Dianne Abbot in - much like Elphike, she apologised for the comments that got her in bother.

they'll still win the election, but i really, really worry about how 'working people' will respond - and where they will turn - when he turns out to be a massive disappointment.

there's a growing number of people who have no prospect of owning their own house for the rest of their lives, and although we are relatively wealthy, inequality is getting worse quickly - this is really bad news for any democracy.

Politics aside I'd just like to say thankyou for your service in regards to care work, my family depends on people like you and I think it's a travesty you and your colleagues are not paid more.

Lack of housebuilding should be the number 1 issue for anyone under 30 or anyone with young children. All the parties say its a top issue but no party is proposing actual change. Right to buy ****** us then pitiful housebuilding means a spiralling number will never have a home.

We are no doubt about it a wealthy nation though and most in the world can only dream of the life available to us
