Hypothetically would Airdrie bring anything to the league? Another plastic pitch and a pretty abysmal level of home support. Would feel a bit like replacing Livi with another Livi 😂
What was their home gate like in the 80s and 90s numbers wise?

Goodwin, Black & Whiteford, they had a team for a while.
We bought Black and should never have let Whiteford go.

They had a decent support 70 and 80s
But They were a particularly horrible team to play against, with loads of ex hearts playing for them .
Also at away games for hibs, the buses were regularly attacked and smashed.

Under McDonald and Jardine they actually had a good mix of talent and steel. Horrible team but very effective. We went through a terrible spell against them in the 90s.
Remember one time at the old Broomfield when an orange band came into the ground just after half-time. No warm welcome from us 😀

really enjoying it - front foot pressing game from both - even Airdries possession from the back is still getting into the forward areas pretty quick. good saves by both keepers some good defending at points.
Second goal Airdrie lost however was more like many Hibs have been losing this season - no pressure to stop cross - defenders all over the place and passing responsibility real gift

Goalkeeper ball surely .😳 I agree but Megwa is day dreaming there and as a defender you have to have an awareness of where the danger is. It was pretty obvious there and he missed it completely. He is very composed and good on the ball though but lacks awareness off it. That will come with age and games though

Josh doesn't get much game time but not on the bench at all suggests an injury.
He played the whole game on Friday as the starters were rested.
Murray Aiken left on the bench today as he works his way back to full fitness.
Megwa played well. Wish he was a left back as we need a back up to Obita.

Possibly but overall I thought he did well defensively too against his opponent and has been excellent several times I've seen Airdrie play. Should be kicking on to challenge for a fair number of games for us next season, perhaps as our second choice right back. Question is whether fans will give him time as many decided he wasn't ready based on just a couple of outings for us around January. Like any player, he will make mistakes.

Despise Airdrie, at one point they were full of ex-Jambos and often beat us. The playoff win against them was supersweet.
Remember being at a cup game through there and Kevin Harper was racially abused all night by their knuckle dragging orange order fans. Pretty sure he was sent off after losing the plot and they beat us.
Things got pretty lively after the game with both sets of casuals going hard at each other.

Megwa has only just turned 20 so I think it is extremely harsh to say he has already 'found his level'. I've been really impressed by what I e seen of him in a number of Championship games and expect him to be challenging Cadden and Miller (if still here) next season. It might be a case of horses for courses in certain games and we should be looking to strengthen our squad in other areas.

think his first touch is was above average. Defending the back post probably not his best attribute. guess it depends on whether a RB or a wing back

He’s 20 years old and should be finding himself playing regularly if he comes back to us he’s 3rd choice behind a guy we should be looking to improve on anyway, he’s came back to us at a time we were well short at the back and still found himself back at airdrie, I’d also love to see some youngsters breaking through but they have to be good enough, at this point Megwa isn’t at the standard we need, he’s had a fantastic season for them and well done to him but at this stage of his career…that’s his level

VAR would good if it was restricted to that kind of decision that can be made instantly i.e. correcting a clear and obvious error.
However it was against Airdrie, a club I remember naming Jimmy Sandison as man of the match against Hibs ten minutes after he'd been sent off.

He's dealt with the physicality of the game for the most part but his touch has let him down far too often and and pace has meant he's had to cut back much more than I'd like. As a consequence he's been too predictable on the ball.

It might be harsh, but i'd like our 20 year old player pushing for a place in our team, not being average to half decent for teams in the lower divisions.
