Sacked by Hull unfairly. Plays great football and coming from a league of a decent level. Exactly who we should be going for.

Was just going to post the very same, nominated for manager of the Season in the championship also seems crazy! But the kind of manager I would think BK group would go for.. attacking football and great to watch.

I must admit I don't know much about the guy but seems decent on paper.
Would we have any chance of getting him or is he well out of our reach?
Always used to speak very well on sky. One best pundits then got Hull Job and done well.
I'd take him.

He’ll get another championship job no bother.
If they end up relegated next season, they’ll have nobody to blame but themselves, like Birmingham this season when they sacked Eustace.

Progressive, attacking minded English coach from the championship....heard that before.

He could as he's a seemed like a decent manager, played good football the few times I seen them. What championships clubs are looking for a manager?

Decent guy, listen to him a bit on our local news, got Hull playing well. Think he will pop up at another championship club.

Don’t know much about him as a manager.
From an outsider looking in though, him getting nominated for manager of the year despite missing out on the play offs seems a bit off?
I would have though that would have been Hulls target to be in the play offs
As for coming to us, again I’d be worried he doesn’t know enough/understand Scottish football or looks down on it.

So long as he brings Greg Docherty with him, we do however need a manager with experience of this league. Another young English manager in my opinion isn’t what we need.
Hecky, LJ, Monty all so similar appointments and all massive failures

This 'Need a manager with experience of our league' is nonsense imo.
We don't need someone with experience, we just need someone decent. I've no idea what makes the scottish league so unique that we need to hire someone who's played/managed here, when no other league is like that.
If Monty goes, Rosenior would be good imo, not sure we'd get him though.

Appreciate your point, I just think it’s such a typically under appreciated league by those down south which leads to signing players so far from good enough to actually compete in this league. Whereas you look at the signings made by people who know the league.

I see your point, and no doubt there have been people underestimating our league but I think more is down to managers just not being good enough.
There's plenty gems to find in league 2 and league 1 down south, just we don't do it. We try by signing players from there but it rarely works for us, although imo it doesn't make it a bad strategy, just poorly executed.
I want something different, I'm mainly sick of the same few names being branded about everytime we lose, ie, Del and Lennon etc.

Was exactly my thought as well when I read the news - same vibes as Birmingham in the Rowett/Zola and Eustace/Rooney debacles.
On the subject of Rooney, I might be wrong but I think the time that he performed really well as a manager was at Derby with Rosenior as his assistant, and struggled without him since.
If our new investors, as many suspect, don’t want to go for an experienced SPL name, I could definitely get on board with Rosenior.
Pretty sure he’ll walk into another Championship job immediately, as others have said though - in fact, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if his availability leads to someone else in that league losing their job in the next couple of days.

Hull City
16th highest wage bill in Championship
17th most expensive squad
19th highest revenue
...sack the manager for not finishing in the top 6 and playoffs.
Absolutely no chance we’ll get him. He’s got a great reputation.
He’ll be snapped up by another Championship Club in no time.

Agree with all that. I saw Hull play this season against QPR and they looked a good well organised side.
He’ll not have long to wait for another club to come knocking.
On the wider point Hibs are unfortunately wasting the opportunity to get someone in and sort the team out for next season. Monty will be sacked before we play 10 games next year.

He saved them from relegation after taking over last season. They missed out on a play-off place on the last day. I think he’s a more than worthy contender.

I’m not against him or don’t think he’s a worthy contender.
I don’t know enough him about Hull, the fact he was nominated for manager of the year must mean he’s done something right.
But taking on Hull, keeping them up and having them miss out on the top 6 sounds similar to someone praising Monty by saying he took us over when we were second bottom and just missed out on the top 6 on the last day of the season 🤣
Obviously there’s more to it hence the Hull thread I posted. A lot of different views about the football played, some think it was really boring and some thought it was brilliant but a few comments about it being in April and after a meeting with the board?
Also comments that the owner chucked money at the club in January for them to get the top 6. Last game of the season they lost to the club who were 21st in the league. Again sounds a bit familiar.
I could see Rosenior being the type to come up with a plan with us and not realising certain teams in the league are happy for us to have possession and will only counter.
Like I said, not against him at all and he’s clearly highly rated - but I’d still need to be sold on him and want us to explore more options
Also, the budgets posted were from last season. Not the current one.

Yeah? I dunno about that. Big names with experience of Scottish football and great ''contacts'' like Lennon, Yogi and Collins signed a lot of dross.

I do find it amusing those writing this boy off as a bad choice due to lack of experience of Scottish Football.
Don’t worry he’s no coming here. He’s one of the hottest managerial properties in England. He’ll have another Championship job on 3 or 4 times what we could pay him by the end of the month.

I’m going to be a dick and point out Mourinho and Klopp are both available this summer, with no experience of Scottish football, you’d turn them down?
Obviously, even with our new found wealth, they’re probably a smidgen on the unrealistic side but I dare say there’s people in between a Pat Fenlon and a Jurgen Klopp, we’d just have to find them.
I’m open minded about who replaces Montgomery, it’s clear he’ll need to be replaced soon I think but I don’t mind where the replacement comes from. I can see the appeal of a proven safe pair of hands, if I was a decision maker I’d probably seriously consider Alex Neil this time round, that said, if an opportunity came up for a Jonny Foreigner who could do better I’d be all for it.

There’s just something about him that makes me no sure. I really don’t know what it is.
I actually think he seems like a really decent, likeable guy who has done a terrific job at St Mirren, there’s just something that says to me I think he’d flop at Hibs.
In the past I’d have put that down to him having too boring a name but I can’t really use that as a reason when I’ve just suggested Alex Neil. Pretty certain it’s one of the main reasons I just never took to Jack Ross.
