What a day! Only time I’ve gone away from ER after a defeat with everyone laughing, joking and singing down Albion Road. Jambottled it.

38 years and the seismic nature of that bottle job never diminishes.
The fact that they themselves campaigned for a change from goal average to goal difference after a similar jambottling feat 21 years earlier just makes it even more delicious.

I remember having pint in the Hibs Club before going to Eater Road. Everyone was so depressed and it was that quiet you could almost hear the clock ticking. Then at the game Kidd scores and three and and half thousand people sounded like thirty thousand.

Started off really bad but what an epic ending to the game - so few at ER made the wild celebrations in the East even better - I am sure that we even celebrated Stuart Beedie’s goal for DUFC that day - I’m sure we’d have celebrated the boiling of a kettle at that point 🤭

Everyone remembers where they were that day, the folk that were at the game, getting results from the radio at home, in the pub, or - for one bespectacled individual, sat on the Dens Park cludgie.

Told this story before, but what the hell it was a great day so will tell it again.
We were in Shades after the match, and everyone took it in turns to call the Hearts clubs that were in the phone book and got the person, normally a woman to shout through to see if there was an Albert Kidd in the bar.
Childish i know, but at the time it was the funniest thing i'd ever heard.:greengrin

Never in the history of football has an innocuous, meaningless thrown in received such a big cheer. Step forward Joe Tortolano 🙌

Smile every time i drive past Dens (daily) imagining thousands of Jambos in tears. No wonder Dundee still have bother with waterlogging.

The thing that always amuses me is Hearts fans desperation to blame St Mirren.
It was in their hands, they didn't need a favour from anyone else, Celtic could have scored 100 and it wouldn't have mattered if Hearts had just done their job.
The failure is 100% on them.

They took 7 points from 8 off us that season. That 1 point Hibs got made all the difference 👀

Seen Hibs Observer also chucked in that it's 21 years since Riordan scored twice against Aberdeen.
That was pretty much the day that changed everything - O'Connor and McManus took the huff, Riordan and Brown got on and tore the place up.
Sure Williamson post-match tried to claim they'd had some of awesome understanding through the youth teams, but they'd barely played together.
