I heard one of the Ipswich players saying the American takeover of the club has been the best thing that's happened to them in years.

Have many UK clubs thrived under US owners?

You can add burnley, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Man Utd to the list maybe not all thriving tho!

Don't think Ipswich are promoted yet.

Yes Man U have been the obvious mess under the Glazers.

Interesting that most are thriving. Wonder how many of the American-owned Scottish clubs will come good.

I wouldn't think many. Currently 4 are in the bottom 6, one is in the top 6 that wasn't expected & the other has just been promoted. Going to be a few unhappy yanks.

**** knows why anyone would want to buy them. They're from a small town and have hee haw fans and absolutely f all prospect of any growth. They've been punching above their weight for years.

Curious as to the driving force for American investment in to Scottish football recently.

Off the top of my head that's us (twice), St Johnstone, Dundee Utd, Dundee all been taken over in the last 5-10 years with rumours about Motherwell

What have the Americans ever done for us.

Well, to date they have totally modernised the corporate match-day facilities bringing in a solid income stream to the club.

Whether that money and the Black Knights money can really change us is for the future. It might make us a steady top 6 team but I don't think it will ever be enough to even outspend Hearts and Aberdeen.

Believe it or not, Perth is a City!

Pedantry aside, the point stands. Winning a cup double did bugger all for the club in terms of increasing it's fan base. I'd love to know what the growth plan is for them.

I honestly don’t know what they can do, apart from stopping the Old Firm supporters buses as they leave Perth and redirect them to McDiarmid. The City and surrounding area is getting bigger, with a lot of new developments, but I would imagine that any incomers will already have allegiances to other Clubs. Of course it may be their intention to knock it all down and develop the site!
