Who do you reckon will be POTY for the league?

Shanklandstein bound to be shortlisted
Miovski?
Bair?

Or the usual Ugly Sister fest…

Butland?
ORiley?
Penalty-Tavenier?

YPotY possibly Lennon Miller?

Hate to say it but it’s got to be Shankland.

Oriley was brilliant until January and then fell off quite a bit

Shankland.

He’s single-handedly got Hearts to third. Without him, they are a bottom six side. They’ll be a very different team once he leaves this summer (thank god).

Agree it’s him.

Don’t agree they’d be bottom six though. They’re solid at the back.

Agree he’ll be gone and they’ll struggle big time without him.

You could also argue that Mioviski has single handedly kept Aberdeen up 🤔

A non OF striker being the top goalscorer isn't as rare as you would expect. In recent times Michael Higdon, Kris Boyd, Adam Rooney, Liam Boyce and Regan Charles Cook have all achieved it. On that metric alone I'm not convinced Shankland deserves it.

Overall though he has had a very good season and if it was a Hibs player in such a position we would all be screaming he deserved it. I think it should be Shankland based on his all round contribution over the course of the season. He's been the best player in an annoyingly decent Hearts team.

To be fair Higdon and Griffiths both won POTY playing for non-OF clubs.

Macgregor is always my pick, he is the only scottish player from the spl that would start in the top half of the epl imho.

shankland and cantwell would be my other picks.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be deserved as it probably would be my choice (begrudgingly) but I think when you have someone like Shankland being a massive performer from outside the Glasgow two then I think everyone will likely jump on it as it's a good bit of news for someone else to win it other than O'Reilly or Tav for example. Probably a bit healthier for the game as well.

I don't think Cantwell should even be in the picture for it at all. He's been nowhere near O'Reillys level at Celtc this season.

Cantwell has 6 goals and 6 assists in 39 games for Rangers this season. That's not a good return for a Rangers attacking midfielder.

O'Reilly has 14 goals and 16 assists in 43 games for Celtc.

Those stats aside, O'Reilly uses the ball much better and doesn't spend half the time rolling about greetin after someone barely touches him.

Love that stuff, I worked with a gang of miners from Donegal, building tunnels under Haymarket area years ago, and it brought back great memories of the craic.

First question they asked when they got you underground was “whos your team?” Hibs boys were accepted into their circle, jambos were told to **** off. One jambo was caught whistling the sash under ground and was bound in gaffer tape head to foot and strung upside down over a tunnel shaft by his feet! Ahhh the good old days.
