No cause in the world is sufficient to make a healthy thinking human believe that stabbing a 9 month old baby is justified. You have to be mentally deranged to do something like this.
Awful

I lived next door to that shopping centre while it was getting built. Truly tragic.

Was there literally 24 hours before it happened. Horrific and unbelievable.

Exactly.
But you can bet that the tabloids will carry headlines about ‘evil’, seeking the cliched and lazy response for a mindless readership.
The origin of the problem is of-course a psychiatric one, not residing in the alchemic world of religion.

It's inevitable that some people react with their own prejudices to the fore when events like this happen. All the 'religion of peace' chat was getting trotted out by the usual suspects earlier. Now it is being suggested (unconfirmed internet speculation) the murderer was an Australian national and Jewish the other side gleefully jump in.
It's a desperately sad situation that really doesn't need made any worse with commentators pushing their own agenda ahead of empathy.

I never use Twitter but when it was clear something was happening the main news was either not picking it up or had little information so I had a look.
And it was absolutely disgusting. So many "patriots" who seemed almost gleeful at the chance to have a go at immigration, Albanese, Muslims etc.
Now it's emerging that it's nothing to do with Islamic extremism I suspect there will be no apology. They'll all crawl back under a rock.
I just can't fathom that being your first instinct after such a horrendous tragedy.

The first videos that came out it was obvious he was wearing a Kangaroos jersey. Not the normal terrorist garb.

What's happening down there. A priest was stabbed as he was live streaming a service. A mob were ready to kill the perpetrator. Police treating it as an act of religious based terror

Incredible and despicable that can happen. Social media companies get away with everything it seems.
