Have just finished desperately looking at the table to see whether there's any way Ross County can make up 11 points in 6 games. I think we've got enough to avoid a relegation play off, but I could easily see us being 10th.

We won’t and they won’t. We’ll be the whipping boys of the bottom 6. We’ve proved for seasons now that we are the softest touch in the Premiership.

Even then it would depend on the goal difference which we are poorer than Dundee at the moment.

Dundee are poorer than us. They are -10, we are -7

No we're not

If Dundee lose both games they only get worse. GD in our favour in that scenario

6th place and get spanked every week post split…
Or, finish bottom 6, get rid off the current clown, and maybe win a few games and give us confidence for next year.
Top 6 is exactly what we don’t need.

In order to make top six, we really needed to win today. Realistically, we won’t make it. It’s very poor.

It will come down to the last game and I think we will beat Motherwell , just need a favour from the Dons.

What a disappointing season.
Again.
For most of my lifetime Hibs have been disappointing, with fleeting flirts with success that dont last long, not sure why people still get surprised at us being average.
But still keeping positive, not overly worrying about the normal service, and hoping for the best and we have another period where we flirt with success 😁

Because we're worse than average for a club of our size. Average would be a consistent top 6 finish with a decent run in the cups (semi's and finals). Above average would be a top 4 finish with Europa entry and/or a Scottish/League Cup in the cabinet. We fall short of average far too frequently with an above average season being once every 15-20 years.

What a state the club is in relying on this at this point of the season.

Scraping into the top six is irrelevant to me unless it leads to a European place.
This latest pathetic result only lessens that possibility even further.

Unfortunately the prize for scraping in by the back door would probably be another couple of howkings from the old firm and yet another defeat to the Hearts.

It's our normal state. Where have you been for the last 40 years?

Well put.
Our size, in relation to the the rest of the league when it comes to resources, support base etc should in itself underpin a consistent top six finish at worst. We are far too often pathetically weak performers. There really isn't an excuse for it.

Said the same yesterday. What's the point of getting there if you're going to leave 3 points behind in fixtures such as yesterday.
As uninspiring as it is though, if we do sneak in St Mirren would still be catchable.

Seventh, eighth or tenth I honestly couldn't care less if we end up bottom half. As long as we avoid the playoff place I don't care otherwise. None of it is good enough.
Really depressing stuff if we're bottom six yet again.

I realise the phrase is often over-used but yesterday was definitely a 'must win game'.
if we can't even beat St Johnstone at home when we're fighting for a top six place, then we really are in a mess.

On what basis do you think we will beat Motherwell Saturday was the game to win and we failed
Motherwell just scored three away at Dundee and have taken more points than us of late
Even if they allow us to counter attack we don’t score many goals in a game The Livi game seems to have been a one off against a very poor team

At this point, I’m relieved we are out of the top 6. Awful performances, awful season that hopefully won’t get any worse.

I think the game will probably be more open as in if Dundee did drop points a win gets them into top 6 too . They are going to have to go for it just as much as we will which could suit players like Maolida, youan , Boyle.
Just a feeling we can go there and get a win which I might be wrong about though certainly think if Aberdeen can go there twice this season and win then we can too .
Teams certainly due us a good performance after Saturday wither it would be enough is a different matter .

We chucked top 6 when we bottled it up in Dingwall. I pretty much checked out from that point onwards.

The textbook ending to this season would be as and A’deen two up in the last game before the split then Well and Dundee pegging us back with mysterious VAR contested stoppage time strikes.
