Surprised they even appealed this as it looks a blatant dive . Seems to have upset them as they even started a thread on how unfair it is . Considering the dive Vargas took against us it's nice to see them not getting away with another dive in the box ! .

Not as if they don’t have previous

Shankland has scored 26 goals and 11 yellows

Devlin has scored 2 goals and 11 yellows

Vargas has scored 7 goals and 6 yellows mostly for diving :greengrin

Cochrane 6 yellows

Alex Edwards got a 2 month ban for less

Exactly my thoughts too. Cochrane gets away with murder an aw.

Devlin dirty wee so and so always good for a card

Remember Paddy Power had Rowles to commit a foul against The Rangers at decent odds easy money

I thought you couldn’t appeal a yellow except in the wrong person being booked ?

And diving.

Did we appeal the Boyle vs Celtic one?

The Shankland dive v Ross County is even less of a dive than the Vargas dive vs us at Tynie for their penalty. Shows you how absolutely shafted we were that evening!

Did we appeal the Boyle vs Celtic one?

Given how keen the authorities are to admit their mistakes, I doubt it would have made sense to appeal it.

The Hearts players are clearly coached to constantly dive and try to con the referee. Cheating is a massive part of their game, like Shankland deliberately obstructing the goalkeeper for Kingsley's free kick goal. It backfired on them that time, but they cheat and hope/expect that the referees will let them away with it, far more than any other club in the country. They will keep doing it because the referees usually do let them get away with it. It's good to see refs getting it right for a change but it's a rarity.

Naismith said that the referee got it wrong on the Kingsley freekick goal in that his player wasn't obstructing the keeper though that's exactly what he was doing. Shankland said he wasn't looking for the penalty and shouldn't have been booked though his teammates Vargas , Forrest etc certainly were , he also said he doesn't know what made him go down and that maybe it was the fear getting clattered or it could have been due to pitch being so bad too. Think Mr Shankland's nose is getting bigger! .

More of a pen that the one they got against us so no wonder they appealed. In general I have no idea what a penalty is any more for a foul or for handball. I know the laws I just have no idea how they are being applied and that is particularly so with Hibs where almost identical incident can vary between bookings for the attacking team to penalties to the attacking team. The only surprise here is that Hearts never got yet another penalty from one of teh biggest cheats in the game throwing themselves to the ground.

Only saw the Sportscene highlights but I don't understand why there's even a debate about this.... Wankland was looking over his shoulder to make sure he was obstructing the keeper.

Absolutely though it didn't stop naebadges having a right good whine about the injustice of it , think he said something along the lines of the keeper could see around him or over his shoulder or something

If you look at the feet there's no contact, but the contact comes at thigh level, defo penalty for me, more of a penalty than the Tynie dive, and I'd happily swap them.

The freekick, he's maybe not interfereing with play.................... but the foreheid is :na na::na na::na na:

Players nowadays throw themselves to the ground when they could stay on their feet and score.Referees have lost touch with the game and don’t realise that a collision is not always a foul.Take the two together and it’s no wonder that nobody knows what’s going on.

Shankland, Vargas and the rest are dirty cheating bassas.

Whenever I read diving on this thread I turn away as it is only a matter of seconds until Boyle is mentioned.

Embarrassing.

We need to put to bed the myth that contact automatically means foul.

Shankland is certainly "top heavy " and with that foreheed, his centre of gravity must be in his boots.

Contact doesn't mean a penalty. it's a contact sport. If contact meant penalty, there would be 8 penalties awarded at every corner.
