End of march to renew seat or you lose it, seems to get earlier and earlier, sure it was beginning of June a few years ago, seem to be pressurising to renew early, when you have 4 in the family going, which is costing us £1350, could do with another month or two before committing monies, least direct debit helps, but that's over 6mths.

Pretty sure capital credit union partnership meant you could do interest free over 10 or 12 months. Not seen if this is available again?

Nice launch video too!

I’m in the west upper about 3 rows from the back in section 13, on the aisle next to the executive seats.

My old legs are starting to struggle coming down the stairs…so I’d like to move lower down on the same aisle if possible
failing that I’d consider the lower tier near the back roughly in line with where I am, again on the aisle as I need the extra room it affords….having eaten too many pies over a longgggggggg period.

Can anyone advise how best to go about trying achieve this ?

Thanks

P.S. …..there are 2 seats

I thought it was a good idea with relatively low production values.

Hibs had a similar theme but better done one year - this one is fine but it's the basics and on a budget.

I wonder about the backing track - do they have to pay a fee to The Who or is it just off enough to avoid having to pay publishing on it?

Suggests either loyalty points or more likely a significant expansion of Hibs First or a similar replacement scheme.

Anyone else having problem with the website? I’ve got my seats in the basket but can’t get past that screen without it freezing.

Would make the scheme completely redundant if it was expanded further minus the club fleecing more supporters imo. The main point of it for me is protection for fans that go home and away in the event of a small allocation. It is already at 500 and our allocation at Parkhead/Ibrox is around 900ish? How much further can it expand in that case. (I know for 99% of games there isn’t any problem getting tickets but it’s the 1% where you need some sort of loyalty system the most). Hopefully it’s a reintroduction of loyalty points rather than any expansion of Hibs First.

Hibs just trying to de-couple the renewal process from the end of the season. Better to sell on hope than reality.

If I could drone on further about this… :greengrin

If Hibs First was to expand I could see them doing some sort of tiered system within HF. E.g Hibs First Gold - £100 capped at 500, guarantees all games. Silver - £50 capped at say 1000 guarantees a ticket for Tiny and 99% of games. Then a sort of entry level at £20 to enable you to purchase an away ticket in the first place.

Not entirely sure how that would work with clubs selling direct etc but I am sure Rangers have a similar system in place albeit with a much larger demand for away games. It would cause a fair bit of uproar I’d imagine as well. I really hope there is a common sense approach (what I have posted there isn’t) to it all if there are any changes.

I think it’s pretty pish that the seat release deadline is more than a month before the early bird date. If you are an existing season ticket holder it’s basically forcing you to renew by the seat release date. Hardly rewarding you for renewing.

Had originally moved to the East from FFL as didn’t think the 11yo would be in to the safe standing but when I actually spoke to her about it she was adamant she wanted to try it.

Phoned the ticket office last week who simply cancelled the seats I’d bought in the East and put our current seats (now to be rail seats) back as reserved to us until 29th March.

Renewed them today and took the club DD option as I always do.

Looking forward to better times ahead and a big thanks to the member of staff in the TO who was so helpful in helping out with the change of mind.

The early bird deadline used to always be around this time of year. It was moved for 2 seasons (2021 & 2022) during Covid and has now returned to the usual time. In fact the early bird deadline is later this season (01/05/23) than it was in both 2018 (06/04/18) and 2019 (12/04/19) prior to Covid.

We have renewed to but are moving seats. Currently my son and I sit in the executive seats in the FFU but there's no way we will be paying £800 for the same seats.

I wonder if Hibs have scored an own goal with their plans for BTG.

Although it's nowhere scientific as a poll, I spoke to about 30 people who sit around me and none of them are renewing.

Maybe the chance to have a drink and some grub will entice folk in but I'm not entirely sure of that.

I agree, you’re being forced to renew before the early bird offer has even finished. Why the rush, up until the last few weeks it would have been a difficult enough job getting folk to renew at all let alone as early as that. Ridiculous deadline.

I think this is a longer term plan. As we've seen in recent past, get a good team on the park and demand will rise. Edinburgh and Lothians population continues to rise so the club as a business can expect to attract new fans with a better product/ more successful team. On that basis they're probably sowing the seeds now for longer term success. If we're challenging top 3 etc those prime seats will sell to walk ups pretty quickly.

Depending on how it goes I'd expect capacity to be increased within 5 years potentially!

The Albion bar has a decent size waiting list. That's 250 just for entry and 800 with a seat in the west executive seats.

Behind the goals sounds more premium with reserved seats with seat access from the lounge. The Albion has the advantage of people keeping the seats they have. BTG has to hope people will give up the seats they have to chose this.

That's great then and I don't mean that sarcastically.

There are a lot of empty seats in the executive area so if we can shift more at that price, that's great business for the club.

Right, I'm off to buy a Euromillions ticket

My interpretation of the BTG launch was that this option will be available too. For one thing, the capacity of BTG is greater than the number of executive seats in the FFU.

I also sit in the FFU Exec - I've renewed and looking forward to the new experience but I'll give it a season to see how it goes. For me those seats are the best in the stadium in terms of space & comfort - also an excellent view.

Also spoke to half a dozen or so around me who weren't planning on renewing - for those with 2 seats or a minor to pay for it's a small fortune.

I do think there will be a lot of people who can't justify the expense of hospitality in the West but will be willing to pay a bit more for the BTG offering. To me it seems a much better deal than paying £200 for Tornadoes on top of a seat in the West given that you can get a bite to eat & go in at half-time & full time.

Give the ticket office an email. I’ve moved twice now and if you give them specifics like this they put you on a list and contact you once seat release is up.

You’ll have to renew first though to make sure you keep your current seats in the chance other ones of that criteria aren’t available

Renewed.Remarkably simple, same as last year and the 6 months interest free DD really helps.Im going to get one for me and the boy next year, just on the final throws of justifying it to myself, is 6 months the longest you can have? cant take it over 10 or 12 months?

Interest free 6 months, take it over longer but pay some interest.

Good worked examples on the renewal email links.

I agree, you’re being forced to renew before the early bird offer has even finished. Why the rush, up until the last few weeks it would have been a difficult enough job getting folk to renew at all let alone as early as that. Ridiculous deadline.

The seat release deadline should be after the early bird deadline. It allows people to keep the discount if they want to swap or change seats. Maybe it's a bit on the early side, but the deadlines are in the right order.

NO mention of Benny, Fat Ally, Gordon Rae, Higgins, Jackie Mac, Ralphie Callachan...what about MY era :grr::grr::grr::grr:

I’m seriously tempted by the BTG offering for those reasons too. I just can’t justify having to pay £800 for my 7 year old boy. I’d have thought they’d do a discount for children.

Yes it's a whack of cash for a kid. I don't think there's an OAP concession either. Guy that sits next to me is in the same position - his son is older but he still pays for him. He's renewed but still smarting form it.

Small benefit but at least you can invite another adult if the kid can't go for any reason.

Paid my £800 last week so hope it’s worth it.

Will be interesting to see how in pans out

Very few people there seem to be renewing
I’ve renewed mine but it’s full of blue dots elsewhere

But it’s a great view with better seats and a bar, which is what people in the west stand pay £800 for

It doesn’t make sense for it to be much less for the same thing

I think for next season it might not do so great ST wise but if the west exec is sold out then people who want that experience will consider the FF upper

Me, along with my boy (19) and good companion next to us, have renewed our tickets in BTG sec 50 for next season.

We’ll see how it goes.

It’s a new experience for us all but one we will have to wait to see if we get either value for money or the experience we have paid for.

Strap in and enjoy the ride 😉

I was wondering if having the big flags in the standing section below might obscure the view of the goals? Big outlay not to see one of the goals if that's the case and I imagine the club will be quick to ban the flags if that's the case

Was there not something about this mentioned elsewhere (i think), that they can't have the big flags flying when the balls in play. I'm fairly sure i'm not making that up.

I would agree with you in that they are the best seats in the stadium, ours are in line with both penalty spots but as it's my son and I, there is no way we can afford it.

I do hope it is a success though and it will be interesting to hear the experiences of folks next season

I'm in the back row so as long as the flag's aren't 100 feet tall should be okay

:flag:

I've not had smoke in my face from football since I got CS gassed by Celtic casuals on the way back from St Mirren in 1987.

Hoping the pyro displays are a bit more forgiving on the eyes - my tickets are at the back row i'm sure we'll be fine but have heard some people find the smoke bad if they have asthma etc

Ultras seems to be as popular as casuals were back in the day - I preferred the singing when it was more visceral and spontaneous but the Ultras chants are better than nothing

Hope not. Sit in front upper and they get in the way of the goals. No issue with when ball out of play or up other end of pitch however a pain if blocking the goals when ball down that end.

Yep, I'm in the front row of the upper and it was a pain in the backside when they've been in the lower before with the flags. I'm sure I read something on here about the size of the flag being restricted?

It is bad enough when someone near you in the front row decides to lean on the wall, it blocks the goal and the corners but at least you can (usually unsuccessfully or temporarily) ask them to move back.

Also, is it actually "considered an ultras section" as they say? I thought it was considered a standing section.

Yes didn't realise it was an ultra section either. They really don't help themselves. Even money something a little silly happens from that section on Sunday.

Looks like Stewards in the Famous Five will be measuring flagpoles on Sunday. Maybe best if a club official brings a saw in case some emergency surgery is required.

I once tried to attach a big flag to a small pole and it failed to rise to the occasion. 🤭
