Since we have a thread criticising the Met, it's only fair that we have a similar one for our own force.
To kick off (and I know that a large part of the blame should be at Strathclyde Police's door.):-
Emma Caldwell.

I'll add the Lamara Bell incident (a completely different sort of issue to Emma Caldwell).

This is practically on my doorstep. Guy was shot whilst walking his dog, police originally said there were no suspicious circumstances! Took a week for the post mortem to reveal he was shot!!
How could they miss that?

The pesky risk to health that is Kirkcaldy police station. 5 deaths in custody since 2015 including a couple of high profile ones involving people with multiple injuries.

I used drive through Fife quite often and joined the Fife Jammer Locations page on Facebook. The posts now go well beyond saying where the mobile speed cameras are! It's mental!
I've lived in Leith most of my life and I've seen the good and the bad. I reckon Fife is on a different level gauging by the steady stream of bampot things that go on on almost a daily basis. It's mental!

It takes Kevin Clancy levels of incompetence to go from non suspicious to oh, he was shot after a week.

Evidence lost as police never investigated the scene for 6 days.
Maybe never had any spare blue tents?
People should be losing their job over this but I doubt anything will happen. SG have to tread carefully unfortunately so as not to look like any action is politically motivated.

I heard Professor David Wilson on bbc radio last night on my way to the game
His opinion that the forming of Police Scotland was the key to some of cold these cases coming to court
It looks like prior to PS, each area didn’t communicate with one another

I'd disagree with that bit. It was more that, when it came to sex-work, Strathclyde and Lothians (and, to a certain extent, Grampian) fundamentally disagreed with each other on its policing.
In the period that Emma was murdered, there were something like 7 or 8 female sex workers murdered in the Strathclyde region. Many of these are still unsolved. The policy of Strathclyde Police was one of harrassment and intolerance. (as an example, the woman who pointed them in the direction of Emma's killer wasn't just ignored, she was arrested).
In the same period, Edinburgh had its licensed sauna poicy and a toleration zone in Leith. There were no murders.
Sadly, in the early days of PS, the attitudes and policies of Strathclyde held sway, and the pragmatic approach of Lothian was done away with (eg the sauna raids in PS' early days).
I'd like to think that Wilson is correct, what with technological advances and societal shifts, but I'm not confident.

Local chat suggest that he confronted a fellow keeper on the estate he worked at for raptor persecution. Could be a revenge attack.
Weapon may be a high velocity air rifle leaving a very small puncture wound.

Another that puzzled me was the burned body in Motherwell. Another one with no suspicious circumstances. Being honest I haven’t really followed it but it does seem a bit odd to say the least.

Worth a wee listen, discuss the Emma Caldwell case around 1 hour 40 seconds and Wilson comes in after this around 1.46
Interesting enough he says that PS are solving cases due to the blame being more corporate

Without going into morbid territory, yous have thought who was on the scene or took him away, would have seen gunshot wounds or blood

Thanks for that.
He saved the best bit for last. The use of "sex worker" and "heroin addict" as dogwhistles for not believing people. :top marks

4 police officers in my gym pump themselves full of steroids and ate quite open about it.
Surely must affect their mental state. They must get drug tested at work
