Bournemouth attendance has never hit 12,000 this season, even against Manc City. Is big club defined by tv money or potential?

Would be impressive if it did as the stadium only holds 11,300

Is this meant to be a serious question?

And who called Bournemouth a big club anyway🤔

Its a sad statement of the times that Bournemouth are a bigger club than us but unfortunately, that's where we are at.

Nah disagree. They’re on a bigger stage. We’re a bigger club.

They aren’t bigger.

They just have a lot more resources thanks to finances

Small club but can hug bigger wages to the likes to Christie the Scotlands biggest club shows you where we are at. Always had smaller stadium and attendance than us tho

Nah, we’re the big Gordon team.

I can remember when we were owned by Happy Harry, Wry Willie, Teetotal Tom, canny Kenny, Dirty David, and Triumphant Tom.

We’ll always be owned by someone.

This thread seems a bit pointless to me. We've got billionaire investors and will have a few million to invest in the team in the summer. 1 transfer window in and we've got a good player from them in Moriah-Welsh on a permanent and in Marcondes we've got a premiership player for a small fraction of his premiership wages.

What has happened so far to suggest we're the wee Foley team? Nothing that I can see. So far so good as far as I'm concerned.

We could be then no1 club potentially we have a cracking stadium own training centre with initial investment maybe Foley sees us getting into Europe don’t think that will happen at Bournemouth and lorient

They get 100 million plus a season in TV rights. We could never be the big team unless we got Champions league groups.

It'll be easier to get hibs in the champions league than it will be Bournemouth, think of that Biil, that's where the glory is

Its a sad statement of the times that Bournemouth are a bigger club than us but unfortunately, that's where we are at.

They are in the richest league in the world with the money that brings and on top of that investment from their owners we can only dream of.

This is a club that until 10 or so years ago would have counted 7000 at home as a good attendance at any period in their 125 year history. Historically they have not been particularly well supported for the only club in a catchment area of roughly half a million people.

Even when in the championship they haven't always managed to regularly fill their 11K capacity stadium and I get the feeling that if they were to spend a sustained period outside of the EPL their crowds wouldn't hold up even in their current small stadium, never mind if they were to increase it's capacity to 18 or 20 thousand.

Never won a major trophy. Never played in Europe. Chuck in one of the pishest badges in British, possibly world, football.

Richer than Hibs, Yes ..... Bigger than Hibs, No

Lets face it. If the only criteria for defining how big a club is is what league it plays in and how much money it has then AFC Bournemouth are a bigger club than River Plate, Boca Juniors, Ajax or Benfica :faf:

Money... and what league they're in.

On both counts, Bournemouth dwarf all the Scottish clubs.

On no account can Bournemouth be described as a big club. Doubt even their own fans would claim that. Rich, yes because of the league they play in and you could argue successful too as they've done well and punched above their weight continuously to stay there. Burnley, for example, are richer than Ajax but they're not bigger than them.

As far as the metrics that Foley and the money men are most interested in, we're smaller than Bournemouth.

Absolutely no ****ing way are we a smaller football club than them.

I'm a sceptic of the Foley deal.

However, I am comfortable with our likely place in the Foley pyramid. Over the last 15 years the only player we have produced of EPL standard was John McGinn. As far as I can remember we have not produced or had another player who would slot into an EPL team over this period of time.

So, I can't see many, if any at all of our players being cherry picked by Bournemouth. From what I can deduce, we will only benefit if players from the Foley pyramid come to us. Or players not deemed good enough for Hibs or needing 'developed' could be offloaded to another club in the Foley pyramid.

:agree:

If Bournemouth want our first team players at EPL level then we've been lucky to have some real quality first team players while they're here. If we had that quality of player, and no connection with Bournemouth, they'd be signed up by another team anyway.
