From what I recall the proposals have taken various forms over the years. Think it was initially just going to be Rangers and Celtic from Scotland, although there was talk of them continuing to play reserve sides in the Scottish leagues.

Personally I'd love to see something introduced that shakes up the tired old format we have, potentially bringing in more exciting opponents and away trips.

What seems to be happening there is Celtic prefer stifling Scottish opposition who could become stronger
in the proposed set-up in the article. If true, Celtic are controlling & denyingthe ability of clubs to earn far more via TV.
