Sitting with 3 Nigerian mates. Enough food to feed a whole team. Brought my green and white flag.

All Cote D'Ivore then suddenly Nigeria score with an imperious header.

Might buy a Nigeria strip - excellent style.

Ivory Coast still attacking. Squeaky bum time trying to hang onto a 1-0.

Yes, not been exhilarating but good nonetheless.

Nigeria fortunate to be 1 up.

Enjoy your night.

If ivory Coast win it they're bordering on Portugal levels of major tournament wins with how jammy they've been

Sat here smashing through a six pack of snowballs, the football is a sideshow to my dessert this evening. Got profiteroles in the fridge as well, may come in handy.

The grub these Nigerian boys served up was legendary. I swear I'm still fu' days later.

Tempura prawns and prawn toast with Chilli sauce.
Nachos in Hot Sauce.
Lamb Bhuna with Nan Bread
Mixed Kebabs

They were all off to the gym at 6am. That's dedication. After a defeat too.

Ghanaian and Tunisian lads in my work were high fiving the morning after. Both say Nigeria are like the England of Africa with their constant arrogance and belittling. Told them always liked them due to their cool strips which went down poorly

Ever make your own Indian food? I learned just over a year ago when my wife bought me curry books by Misty Ricardo and Dan Toombs. It's all me and the boy want to eat now, stroganoff and the likes are off the menu now lol.

Unfortunately, I've not learned the art of authentic curry making. The nearest I've got is frying off chicken, and adding curry sauces, the hotter the better. However, I appreciate there is a lot more to it than my simplistic but tasty cooking. I admire you taking the time to learn Harry. Good on you.

There's a product called Mr Naga Hot Pepper Pickle in a jar you can buy, put an 1/8th of a teaspoon in your sauce and that'll put some heat in there lol. Careful with it though, Jalapeno peppers are around 5000 units on the Scoville scale, Naga Chillis exceed one million.

Thanks for the tip Harry. Looks as if its in stock at Iceland. If I can buy some this weekend, I'll certainly let you know how it goes. i was planning a simple curry this weekend coincidentally. Some of the sauces aren't as hot as advertised, the best one I normally use imo, is the Tesco Finest Vindaloo sauce. Easy to make, chop up chicken breast fillets or buy ready chopped, flash fry, into pot with sauce, bring to boil, simmer for 12 - 15 minutes, done, serve with rice, and hot nan bread. Probably makes a curry connoisseur wince, but I like it. Simple and easy for a Saturday night meal. :aok:

I'm the opposite, not much of a Chinese food fan but I did make this Chinese dish a few weeks ago on request and it was pretty damn good to be honest and not at all difficult.

Have you tried the mayflower powder that you can get in home bargains/B&M’s. I really like it.

Just a wee follow up on the Mr Naga pickle Ghost Chilli's I tried Iceland, and couldn't find it, spoke to a worker there, who looked it up, completely out of stock. I'll maybe have to order it online. While I was in there I bought 3 for £5 Patak's madras sauces, and used one of them instead. Added Chilli flakes and black pepper, not that hot but still very tasty. Looks like I'll have to try it another time mate, but thanks very much for taking the time to let me know about it. Nice one.

Another option to chilli flakes is to look in Asda for Thai chillis - you'd need three + per dish but they have a nice flavour if they are available. I think they are also known as Birds Eye chillis.
