I see Jon Dahl Tomasson has left Blackburn Rovers ‘by mutual consent’ after a poor run of form. He did a great job there last season with a very young squad. I remember he was the preferred option by many (me included) on here previously.
Not sure he’d want to come here or we could afford him, even considering new investment, but think he would be the perfect for us.

Not saying he is a fantastic manager but to think we choose Lee Johnson over him
Shafted by the club, selling best players and not backing him, fans seem to like him.

I thought it was more down to he wanted to much financially to become our manager ( could be wrong on that ) .
Seem to remember last year Blackburn had won 15 , drew 0 and lost 15 . Consistency a problem like it was for LJ too .

I’m not it’s as simple as that. More likely that we couldn’t justify his wage demands or he wasn’t interested due to having better options (Blackburn).

We didn’t choose, he priced himself out of the Hibs job.

Rovers are 18th, doesn’t seemed to improve them, least under Mowbray they had a chance for the play offs

I think we need to get behind the manager we already have if I’m being honest.
The last thing the club needs is to be sacking yet another manager and bringing in another!
Let’s face it, it’s going to take bloody hard work and plenty of good recruitment to get us were we need to be.
Another new manager doesn’t change that.
I’m not convinced by Monty but I’m willing to give him some time to try and build something but he badly needs to get us winning football matches. One win in eight is shocking and I feel it won’t take many more defeats before he gets his jotters.

Did he not want to bring in a Director of Football with him or something like that and Hibs said no?

Exactly!
Let that sink in.

Think there's more to it than that. Did a good job there last season and was popular with the fans, according to a former work colleague who's a Rovers season ticket holder. His hands were tied financially this season tho and didn't have the squad to capitalise on a strong start.

I’m not sure about that, I did hear his wage demands were astronomical. That could well be the case though, bit of a scunner considering we then did appoint a DOF not that long after.

Surprised there is any regret or call to try to recruit JDT based on what he has done at Blackburn. Ok there may be some mitigating factors but he has left them in a pretty lowly league position. If he replicated that here many would be calling for him to be sacked.

I don't think he did anything spectacular there. Pretty inconsistent. Similar to Johnson at us. If we'd appointed JDT would we be any better off? Probably not.

Their fans are absolutely gutted, got their highest finish in 10 years doing so on a low budget and they played very attacking football. He's been shafted this year by the owners.

Wish he became our manager and I would jump to have him now to be honest.
Won't ever happen as that ship has firmly sailed.

I've nothing against Tomasson. I watched their FA Cup match recently and thought their play looked tidy. But it was against a much lower league team, I forget who, so difficult to gauge. I can't speak for them but would be surprised if the fans are that fully behind him given their season so far.

Blackburn fans in our pub tonight back thinking they are world beaters again.
But did mention players returning who were allegedly weeks from returning and others giving that little bit more
Their opinion was that as much as the club is in a mire there is more going on in the background of the playing side.
Who gives a??

Dodged a bullet imo. He's not exactly had Blackburn flying and their league position currently is a sad indictment of his reign.

Pretty sure he guided them to their highest Championship finish since being relegated from the Premiership. Think he's a good manager and if it was down to LJ and JDT we got done.
