In hospitality after the game. Said he could potentially train tomorrow so doesn’t sound it.

Look forward to having him back, I want to stick with 433 but I don’t know where he would fit in, he doesn’t seem like a number 9 and I am unsure about him in a midfield 3, maybe just off the left?

He can play as 8

Does he have the legs? Seems to me in his career more of a 10 or wide player.

Play him as a 10 with Welsh and Amos behind.[emoji106]

Marcondes clearly has talent and you can see his qualities.

I do have a slight concern that it might not quite work out for him here or he might not help us as much as we anticpate.

He was poor on Saturday and noticed him throwing his arms about a few times at players. Just worry that he may get frustrated and also disrupt the team a bit. Last night was our best performance in weeks without him and with the 3 in midfield. Not sure how he fits in to that team if we play that formation going forward - maybe in for Levitt?

Just a hunch and hopefully I'm way off the mark. If we can get him firing on all cylinders then he could be brilliant.

For me that changes the shape again, last night the 3 midfielders battled for everything and I think we would need the same 3 or Amos coming in if we play 2 high wingers and a striker

He sauntered about on Saturday like he was Billy big baws.
He needs to get his head in the game and be prepared to get his legs dirty or it won't work. We shall see. I hope he does as I suspect he's class.

No idea where you get that from. He wasn’t great but clear wasn’t happy with how it was going absolutely nothing to do with Billy bigbaws

Looking back on his Brentford career in June 2021, Marcondes stated "the position that I played at Brentford was not the optimal one for me. I played as an 8 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Playmaker#Deep-lying_playmakers) and I want to play as a 10 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Playmaker#Advanced_playmakers) instead. I never really got into those positions that I really wanted to be in and where I think I am best".

Welsh, Newell and Marcondes as our midfield 3 for me with Marcondes in the more advanced role.
