Thankfully not a common occurrence - which makes yesterday all the more galling. Last time I can think of was the post-takeover Derby in September 1990. Has it happened since?

I can remember a couple of games in the 2013/14 season this happened...4 down to Malmo at half-time, 3 down to St Mirren at half-time

It’s what you do in the second half after going 3 down that matters.
It’s football, you’ll win, lose and draw. You’ll go 3 down sometimes when the Gods conspire or when players just can’t be arsed to switch on and compete.
How yoy react tells you everything.

Little reaction yesterday and St Mirren were comfortable winners.

Very worrying.

We were 3 down to Celtic after half an hour in 2021 albeit we pulled one back just before HT. We were also 3 down to Livi after only 47 minutes in the same year, different season.

2019 we were 3 down to Rangers after 53 minutes. Same season we were 3-1 down to Celtic at HT at Hampden.

We were 3 down away to Aberdeen at HT in December 2017. 3 down after 65 minutes v Morton in 2016.

Last time I can see we were actually 3-0 down at home at HT was ironically v St Mirren in January 2014. We lost 3-2, 3 down after 26 minutes. James Collins scored a double for us in the 2nd half. Match report here:

I'm sure everything turned out alright that season......

I remember in the 80's Dundee doing us by half time at Easter Road and Keith, Keith, Keith scored at hatrick for them. Think it was 4-0 at the end.

Game I fondly remember is when Mowbray was here

We were 0-2 down at home to killie

There was no panic like yesterday, as you knew you had a decent manager and a decent set of players who were going to at least try to turn it around. We absolutely smashed them and won 4-2.

Yes it wasn’t 0-3 down but the point remains, we are so far away from team spirit, attacking football etc it’s scary

We can do a team huddle before every game, it counts for hee haw at the moment. The team has never looked more distant currently

Dunfermline under Williamson? A Tony Caig disaster. Might've been only 2-0, but felt worse.

Think it ended 4-1.

Rangers a few seasons ago??

They scored in the first couple of minutes. If it wasn't 3 by half time it certainly felt like it.

Very well described. You just knew a comeback was coming with Hibs sides.

That’s what I thought too, although when I tried to find the match in question there was no sign of it.

25th August 2001. Finished 1-4. We wore purple at home.

4-0 after 31 minutes, Paul Fenwick scored for us with 5 to go. Moravcik, Larsson and Sutton x 2 for Celtic. Lowlights below which say 4-0 and only show the Celtic goals:

As I said above though the last domestic game we were 3-0 down at HT in was more recent. St Mirren in 2014.

Cheers for that, much appreciated.

Remember that game. Just seemed never in doubt we would come back and win. Changed days from now unfortunately.

Were we not 3 down to St mirren under butcher and that sparked the descent to relegation?
