Is that not what his mummy did.No. His mummy also opened hospitals, community centres, libraries, schools and factories, launched ships and boring stuff like that .

Waving is all that's left and a damn fine job he's doing without all that ribbon cutting and plaque inspecting rubbish we had to sit through.

You do realise this is his "job" ?

And for many he's doing it brilliantly. He is also excellent at saying to cap doffing plebs " and what do you do?" Before moving along to the next one.

Totally on board with that, he waves like the King he is, asks people "what do you do" with such kindness. He even uses that "6th tier amateur, ventriloquist who's ost his puppet" voice to give us all a laugh while doing so. As for his missus her beauty, kindness and elegant charm is enough to slightly brighten up the smallest of alcoves.

The whole lot of them only cost eight hundred grillion pounds a month and are worth every damn British groat.

Has he not built a town for something like 4000 people that is in line with his eco credentials? Also his work with Dumfries house is incredible.

No matter your view on the royals, it’s a but unfair to say all he does is wave to the crowds

No matter your view on the royals, it’s a but unfair to say all he does is wave to the crowdsIt's one of the estates, the income from which contributes to the more than £1bn income they contribute to the monarch's personal wealth.

I'd probably give waving, dressing up as a pretend military figure etc and accepting tesco bags full of Euros from Arab despots a go for that type of money too.

Tourism or somethingEx monarchies palaces get similar or more visitors than existing monarchs. The public can get more access to the buildings they've long since paid for, and are maintaining, than if there's still freeloaders in residence graciously giving access to a few chosen areas.

What’s the story with Kate, no sightings of her leaving hospital, plenty rumours going around that she maybe seriously ill or had a stroke, doubt that very much but something not adding up regards her, abdominal pain is the reason given but does that see you kept in hospital for a lengthy time.

It was a planned surgery so doubt she had a stroke or anything sinister.

The council tax thing is weird, but I don't think it's really about the royals as such.

At first glance I assumed Buckingham Palace must have been given some special status for the council tax to be so low, but it's not – it's classified in band H, the highest band, so within the existing council tax setup there's no other way to classify it so that they pay more.

The weird part is why a band H property only pays £1828 – that's £60 lower than the band C rate where I live (band H is £4252). The answer is that the Westminster council rates are incredibly low – band C only pays £812 (https://www.counciltax.info/council/westminster).

A quick Google suggests it's the lowest in the country. Seems like a lot of effort to save our glorious overlizards three grand a year, but the cynic in could definitely believe that a larger group of grifters who are likely to have residences in the Westminster area might have exerted some influence on it.

Diagnosed with cancer.

Shame for him.

I was tested for and subsequently diagnosed with an early stage skin cancer 4 years ago. In the grand scheme of things it wasn't very serious and nothing compared to what many go through. The 5 year survival rate for my stage was 97%; it was a simple operation and a few follow up appointments and had minimal impact on my day to day life. Hearing the words 'I'm sorry but you have melanoma a type of skin cancer' was still scary though and I'd rather not hear anything similar again.

No matter how privileged the man is he's still a human being and he's still going to be pretty scared right now. Good luck to him.

It's undoubtedly huge news if a countries monarch has cancer as it would be in Spain, Netherlands or Thailand ect.

Hopefully he recovers its a horrible disease.

I have nothing against him personally apparently the only politics he cares about are green issues, that's why the cabinet hate him. Apparently his mum was nice and on the other hand his brother is a nonce. I like you have nothing against them as humans who were born into it. Its the roles that are abhorrent. So down with the monarchy and get well soon Charles

Starmer doesn't use private health care but I'm sure he and Yousaf would get preferential treatment right enough. Anwar and Yousaf did go to private school though. I say most worldwide head of state's would get preferential treatment, then and us and that

We're not here to monitor and platform people scoring political points over someone with cancer.

There is unlikely to be a person on here who hasn't been impacted by cancer either directly or indirectly so it's at best ill advised. Even by the standards we have come to expect on this forum in recent times this has been a low point.
