Watching Mali vs South Africa and chatting to my son got us thinking of African Hibs players, I started humming Amadou do do and came up with the Mali Magician Amadou Konte.

We managed to come up with the following.

Dominique Malonga (Congo)
Benji (Morocco)
Zemamma (Morocco)
Sol Bamba (Ivory Coast)
Rocky (DR Congo) obviously
Jojo Wollacott (Ghana)
Efe Ambrose (Nigeria)

I remember a North Africa striker, but can’t remember his name.

Any more?

Frank Dja Djedje - Represented France but born in the Ivory Coast (not sure if that counts :greengrin)

Think we missed a huge trick not singing his name repeatedly to the tune of "Panic" by The Smiths ( hang the DJ).

Had to look this guy up as I have no recollection of him. Seemingly played for us 11 times, scoring 2 goals.

We had one on trial for us, played a friendly against Dunfermline a couple of seasons back, possibly Doidges debut but I’m not sure about that.

Along these lines sort of. If Ghana or DR Congo went on to win the tournament would that be the first Hibs player to win an international major while being at the club? Can't think of any off the top of my head. Australia also have a fairly decent chance at the Asian cup also.

Doidge made his debut in a friendly against Arbroath and missed a first half penalty. Joe Newell also made his debut in a 3-2 loss. Moon and a Scott Allan screamer the goals for us.

Memorable for scoring an 89th minute winner vs Livvy in 2015 when we had just lost an 88th minute equaliser. Also for an excellent assist for EL Alagui in our 2-0 win v Hearts at Easter Road.

How bad is the commentary Every game is the same

Absolutely horrendous! When Congo got the penalty for handball when it never hit his hand both of them completely missed the obvious point that it wasn't a handball. Absolutely mental that both commentators were repeatedly claiming it clearly hit the boys hand. Even when VAR correctly overturned it they still didn't know what had happened.:hilarious
