Flights booked back to Edinburgh for the Dundee game in February. It's the first time back since Covid and I'm coming over with a German pal and our 2 sons. I'm looking forward to fish and chips from Scouse Hibee's chippy but was hoping for a few tips on where else to eat in the city. Grateful for any tips.

Kyloe in the Rutland. Fab for steaks if that floats your boat.

If it's specifically pub food then the worlds end on the high street is the best I've had in the city. Very small dining area though.

Queens Arms on Frederick st is good. There’s also a bucks bar just opened on Hanover st if you like Wings/chicken burgers etc. Down the hatch is also good across from the playhouse.
Lioness of leith on duke st also good

Cafe Royal
Amazing setting, arguably the nicest interior of any pub in Edinburgh. Personally I'm not sure the food is worth it though.

The Broughton (on Broughton Street unbelievably) is superb for food.

The Guildford next door is better. And cheaper. And more comfortable.

Had a good meal and drinks and great service in Teuchters Bar & Bunker in William Street last week.

The Bailie for pub food.
Rollo if you’re just talking any food. Best restaurant in the city imo.

King's Wark down at the Shore is good for pub grub.
Not pub food, but I love Kezban just round the corner on Commercial Street. Middle Eastern food.

Any ideas where to take kids, going out this weekend in Edinburgh and always struggle with them as they are so picky, always end up at TGI's or Hard Rock as wee ones like it, to be honest I am sick of those places, food is not that great but kids love it, need to find a happy balance

Go to for fun with the kids is Wings in old flesh market close. It predominantly sells chicken wings and nuggets with a few dozen different sauces but has other things too and cheap. There's big screens playing kids and retro movies. Best is if you call you can book gaming tables with retro consoles like games cube n64s ect. Eat wings whilst beating the kids at Mario kart

Bonnie and Wild is good as everyone can pick from a different food vendor. Great if everyone in the family likes different things.

Might give that a try myself with the kids. One wee note it's Old Fishmarket and not Fleshmarket in case anyone ends up in the Halfway House by mistake.

Dodgy all over. That's why they're cheap. :greengrin
Looks like they tried to close down one company, the one that owes HMRC that money, and start another. The striking-off of the first one has been objected to (presumably by HMRC).
The second one looks unstable.
