A ‘players ticket book’ from 1903-4 and a 1902-3 league winners medal of David Reid on antiques roadshow tonight from pollock park in Glasgow.
Also had his contract. Was valued at £1800-2500

Liked the letter he received inviting him to play against Dundee the following Saturday. Brilliant.

Surely worth a lot more than that.

Was amazed when that came on as I never expected for a moment anything to do with Hibs, but very interesting to see how signings were carried out then and the salary offered. He had a League Winners medal, but wonder if he played in the 1902 Cup Final as I think they said he played till 1904.

One young Hibby in the audience as well.

Like everything else, it's worth what someone's prepared to pay. If there was two Hibs-mad billionaires desperate for it, it could go for £50,000,000.

Wonder if the Historical Trust will approach the guy? Are we the First Scottish football team to be mentioned on the antiques roadshow

Wonder if the Historical Trust will approach the guy?

Looks like they already have reached out to see if anyone knows him

A quick wiki shows that David Reid was the highest scorer in the League in our Championship winning season 1902-03 with 15 goals

Scoring 21 times in 32 appearances

No mention of him being involved in the glorious Scottish Cup campaign 1901-02 as he seems to have joined Motherwell for that season before returning to the fold in 1902/03

Career: Carluke Milton Rovers Hibernian Motherwell Hibernian

Edit : Scored on his debut 3/2/1900 in a Scottish Cup R2 Replay versus Hearts at Easter Road in a 1-2 loss

A “Hearts are Champions” tshirt from around 1986 featured once but wasn’t worth much. Not sure why….

She has apparently got that way way wrong and the medal itself is worth at least £6k.
