View Full Version : Shankland booking after goal?

His goal celebration seemed to involve jumping up on the advertising at the away end. I didn't see him booked at the time and thought he would be.

Should that have been a booking and have we requested any conversation between the referee and the fourth official on it?

Good on the referee for not booking him. Players getting booked for celebrating a goal is a particularly s*** aspect of modern football.

Na just ran behind the goal to the Hearts fans then across to the East laughing at us in mock celebration

Fair play to the guy

Shankland was the difference

He knew and we knew that was the winner

Never a booking

We get them next time

Is this one of those “clutching at straws “ threads or was it written as tongue in cheek.

They acted , we didn’t. Suck it up and move on , that’s all we can do. Said it many times that THEY always seem so much more up for it that we are , although it was eye bleeding from both sides

Seems strange to bring this up so long after the event?

I’m more inclined to ponder what we can do to beat them than worry about their celebrations

Would any caution have carried forward to when he’s running out in a Rangers strip in a couple of weeks time or is the slate wiped clean?

Players celebrating should be encouraged, it adds so much to big big moments, iconic moments.

English football has lost all passion, a complete plastic league, Scotland should be going against that and keeping it real.

He is a Rangers fan, it's well documented. As another poster says that must be when he played for Hearts youth.

His political views are mad, too. Aside from rumoured orange walk stuff, he's a massive anti-vaxxer/COVID conspiracist. It was a running joke on the Scottish football subreddit for years, Hearts have presumably told him to shut it at least publicly.

Plenty to make fun of him for rather than tired 2007-esque jokes about his appearance.

Spoke to a Leeds Utd fan here who said at one time his wife lived near Shankland's family , guy said I think Shankland's uncle had a pub and he and the wife had been in it a couple of times , very much a sevco bar . Leeds fan said they were dyed in the wool Attila's .
