There is also this one, looking at the history of 150 years of the Edinburgh Derby, the world's oldest derby match.

Haven’t seen the TT’s one before

Definitely one for the Christmas list

Must be hundreds of Hibs books now and Tom Hart said it would never catch on

I have the Hibernian hard back not sure if it’s been updated

The Hibernian Book's full title is from Joe Baker to Turnbull's Tornadoes and is an old book presumably re-released in paperback

I wasnt aware of the Tornadoes book so thanks for the heads up on that to OP

Turnbulls Tornadoes is new.
John Brownlie and Alex Edwards were signing copies in the shop before last home game.
I didn’t see it promoted anywhere leading up to the game.

Wasn't aware of this one either. The title would be more accurately termed The Rise And Way Too Premature Break-Up Of Turnbull's Tornadoes.

Bizarre the club didn’t bother to advertise this. I’d have got one for myself and one for my dad

Yip could have built a squad to win the league including Gordon Wee Jimmy and Harper plus adding a few Roughie and Dode Stewart

Can't agree. White socks on a hibs kit never looks right to me. I didn't like it in 2016 either

White socks always remind me of the mud spattered 2-1 victory at Tiny when Arthur scored the winner in the Scottish Cup and John Blackley’s side that went on an excellent run playing some good football to reach the final of the League Cup mid eighties

Who's the keeper in that pic? And is that a player in the back row, first left? Looks like he's in his 50s.

You're right. I never even liked the all green strip they wore against Real Madrid.

White socks always remind me of Joe Baker’s return and ending Aberdeen’s long unbeaten run in the early 70’s.

I see David Duff's book 'Sunset on Hibs - The plot to destroy Hibernian' is due out towards the end of the year (October). Should be worth a read for those who remember/are interested in the events of the summer of 1990

Really enjoying the rise and eventual fall of The Tornadoes

Brought back many memories of watching matches involving this fantastic football team truly a joy to behold with lots of inside gossip and stories thrown in as well

I enjoyed it too Billy, but it is a pretty bitter sweet book, memories of great days but also a sense of a huge wasted opportunity and Eddie Turnbull doesn’t come out of it well.

Yip lots of background filling in the gaps and funny stories that give you an idea of the unique bond and almost gallows humour from such a close knit band of brothers

Hard to believe they only played about 22 games together

Well worth a read especially for fans of a certain generation

If I am honest that’s the first Hibs game I can truly remember although I did go before that.

I can remember Joe’s white boots and sideburns and was aware they hadn’t lost a goal for ages before

actually liked the white socks . . Looked classy . Maybe helped players find each other with passes too ( subliminal) ..certainly appeared 'lucky' though the tornadoes never usually needed luck.

Just read in HSL's excellent update today that someone (Mike Hennessy) is writing a book about the life and work of Canon Hannan to coincide with the 150th celebrations and it will be available from the club shop later this year.

Excellent news, it's long overdue that that man's story was properly told and I'll be first in line to buy it.

Worth mentioning for all Hibs Book enthusiasts that Colin Leslie ( Shades ) was due to release What’s the Story Goals and Glory ? Hibs’ jaw draw dropping journey through the 90’s on 16/12/2024 ( A follow up to his brilliant Best to Beastie to Belgium a green and white knuckle ride through the 80’s) but has unfortunately been delayed until later this year according to Amazon ( £12 ).

One to watch out for
