There simply weren't enough police or stewards around the pitch at the end of the game to stop what was something which should have been predicted given the Context. The semi final Rangers Celtic at end of the game there were significantly more police and stewards round pitch perimeter.

Ultimately a pitch invasion is hardly something we invented either - it was a likely scenario if we won and wouldn’t have caused any trouble anyhow, until the H*** decided to join in…

We had to return down south on Sunday after the final so missed the parade. Bought every paper we could at Waverley and spent the train journey laughing at the ridiculous and hysterical coverage of the ‘Hampden riot’ that didn’t happen right in front of our eyes at the final whistle. They did confirm that polis had to return to Hampden from Govan…

I wish I’d kept them all to remind myself of the monumental rubbish that was printed that day.

Tbh I would prefer they won on Sunday, a league cup win is irrelevant to the 2 arse cheeks unless it forms part of a treble, Aberdeen winning it would stick in my craw - especially after we threw away the semi. Either way, I won't be watching!

Heard a similar story my mates a Glasgow City center sergeant, call was made to begin move resources towards the govan area at 4.35 in anticipation of crowds developing, ie police moving out of Hampden to cover mount Florida and central station, then moving towards govan City center was already on cup final alert for us going back via queenstreet
