Hibs V Bristol City Bloodbath ?

I was speaking to a bloke from Bristol recently who told me he travelled to watch a pre-season Ango-Scottish cup tie between Hibs and Bristol City at ER back in the late 1970's. He said it was memorable because of the violence on the pitch which was much talked about in the press. Seemingly Norman Hunter and Peter Cormack (then playing for Bristol) were sent off, Cormack for punching someone in retaliation for a bad challenge. Any oldies remember this ? or did he make the whole thing up ?

I remember the game and the Cormack Incident couldn’t tell you about Norman Hunter though, and I think it was far earlier than late 80s

1977 according to wikipedia, a semi final. 1-1 at Easter Rd and 5-3 in Bristol.

I was at the game, remember Cormack's sending off and I had thought there was a second sending off but couldn't have told you who the second player was. Used to enjoy the Anglo Scottish cup games
