View Full Version : Kevin Nisbet, January return?

Millwall are "doing a Maloney", having appointed a young assistant manager, over promoted & out his depth.

Getting beaten soundly most weeks & not playing Nisbet

With the Euros on the horizon, that's a non runner for Kevin

Time for a 6mo loan back to ER in Jan I'd say

Isn’t Nisbet injured?

He'd only come back if he was almost certain he'd be a starter, that won't be the case whilst we have Vente.

He's not going to want to swap not been a first pick at Millwall for the same here.

That ship has sailed, a good player on his day but had a fair few stinkers for us

I don't see Nisbet being an automatic starter for us at the moment but I'd take Allan Campbell off their hands for them. He seems to be a sub most weeks and would be a great addition to our midfield.

It will not happen, but a pairing of nisbet and vente would be pretty good.

Good earner for us, but he got the move away he was desperate to get, and his time with us is over.

Think his career has already peaked

No thanks we’ve moved on.

Shane it's not going well for him. As you say, with Euros he needs to be starting every week to give himself the best chance of starting.

Agree.

Said when he left he wouldn’t go any further and I stand by that. I reckon the same will be true of Porteous.

I agree that it won't be an option but are people seriously saying we wouldn't want a fit Nisbet?
Surely a better option than Doidge or landers

Mickey Weir came back. So did Mcginlay. And riordan and O’Connor. And various others. Some didn’t. Nisbet would be a great addition to our squad.

If he wanted to return and fight for his place them absolutely. Silly to say otherwise.

He won't be coming back though.

Just scored a minute ago after coming on as a sub.
Good finish in a crap team.
Was having a chat with Harry Clarke after the game.
Both beyond Hibs now, English Championship where most of the best non OF players headed for before the Italian job became a thing.

No one outside the old firm could afford him.

Sure he’s been recovering from injury, scored tonight when he came on.

Madness to say we wouldn’t want him back etc IMO, quality player who we now can’t afford anyway.

May as well go for McGinn, Doig and Porto while we are at it

sure he did well before getting his move, but the question marks over his attitude would mean a no for me. came across as a tad sulky and didn't always work his bollocks either. I think Vente is the more rounded player and has greater potential too.

Never gonna happen, but really surprised at the folk saying no.

He was excellent last season when not injured - had the third highest non penalty goals per9 90 in the league by a long shot, behind only Kyogo and Colak, miles ahead of Miovski, Shankland etc.

Haha fair enough. Nisbet came up in the pub after the Dundee game last week and it was established he was injured, maybe he's just back.

Anyway if he's fit and scoring goals he won't be going out on loan, so null point really :greengrin

I don't think it will ever happen personally, he was desperate to get out last time round and while he had banged in goals for us at times he also has a knack for being totally anonymous.

Good luck to him.

If we signed him on January the first, he'd probably hand a transfer request in by the 5th.

Kevin Nisbet scores for the second time in 4 days.
First start today since early October due to injury.
Another very good finish from a quality striker

Some folk just don’t like him, kinda get it. Never really seemed he wanted to be here. Covid season probably didn’t help that. Also had a really poor spell, albeit played up top on his own and pretty much had zero support.

Good player though and I agree would walk into our starting XI

They should both be there. Alongside Adams and Dykes

But suspect we'll take 3 and it'll be between Nisbet and Shankland

When Shankland moves along the M8 he’ll be a cert to be in the squad.
