Does anyone know when the tickets for the derby on the 27th of December go on sale? I had a look on the website but they don't appear to be available.

I'm an ST holder but a cousin of mine is over from the US for Christmas and is keen to attend, but isn't on the database, so I'm needing to get it for him.

Thanks in advance

Good question. We usually start sales around 2 weeks before the match, if not a bit earlier if fixture allow. We have a number of games in December to manage ticketing fulfilments, especially away games. I expect these to be on sale end of week commencing 4th December or start of 11th.

Be a good dude and just give him your season ticket.
You've been loads of times and can go next time

It cost me £35 for Ibrox, £31 for Tynecastle and £33 for Parkhead. So we are charging pretty much what others charge us

Agreed - above £30 is ridiculous. Should be £25 max for any game, and ideally not above £20 if at all possible.

Ticket prices in Scotland are excessive in my view .The only mitigating reason is that the TV deal we have is so bad that ticketing is the main revenue stream hence the hefty prices .

I also noticed the other day that Celtic and Rangers had the highest ticket prices for away fans in the European competitions in the whole continent.

:bitchy:

So that'll be the same for the derby with the £32 being those ones right at the sides of East and West.

I thought £32 was harsh enough to highlight and a jump £36 is a proper cash grab and slap to the fans.

Can't even begin to think the extra costs involved in staging a game at Easter Road compared to say five years ago. The squad outlay needs covered too.

It absolutely sucks and a tenner less across the adult tickets would be far more accurate in terms of what we're actually being offered, but I don't think we be expected to be an outlier at this time when it comes to Scottish ticket pricing.

I remember paying that or even possibly more over 15 years ago to watch the Brian Kerr Derby at Tynecastle.

Cheap at the price by the full time whistle.

Absolute robbery of a pricing structure, but it's the same all over except for the odd "special deal" style match like our Halloween deal for the County game.

To be honest the New Years derby is the game of the season. £32 will sell out easily and is better value than day £25 for a run of the mill game.

It’s nuts I agree but Arsenal regularly charge over £100 for home games, a west end musical might cost £80-160 and the Royal Opera House is now £250 or even more!

I clearly would prefer it was less obviously but even if it was £50 I think for a big game they would get away with it.

Pointless comparing to arsenal. City of 10m people, loaded, global fan base.

Fairer comparison would be to Sheff Wed and I noticed their Trust complaining about ticket prices. £38 for a runoff the mill game, no students, concessions being 20 quid odd. Compared to that the Edinburgh derby seems good value for money (even though on the face of it, it's still expensive).

Yep. Concert tickets have went from £50 to £150 on the last few years. Prices for Hibs haven’t gone up by the same trajectory thankfully but with all the costs of fuel, electricity, everything in fact, it must be almost impossible to keep ticket prices low when it’s our main source of income.

I don't think it was £37, think it was £33 for the Monday night Kerr game.

Both outliers in Derby ticket pricing, us charging Hearts £24 in 2001, and Hearts charging us £33 in 2007 were before the financial crash of the late 2000's, so maybe ticket prices meant slightly less due to having increased spending power?

There's not a chance I'd pay the Kerr game with inflation now, which would be £53. The 6-2 game ticket price with inflation of £43 I could probably pay through gritted teeth.

Season ticket sell back now available

Power
04-12-2023, 02:01 PM
Ticket Exchange is now available for the Edinburgh Derby on Wednesday 27 December; kick-off at 8pm.
With match tickets already sold out, it means Ticket Exchange is now available – giving Season Ticket Holders who can’t attend the game the chance to release their seat and earn money off their 2024/25 Season Ticket.

These extra seats will then become available to purchase.

Supporters who wish to release their seat(s) should ensure they are logged into their online ticketing account. From here you should see a red dot in the top right-hand corner, when clicked, this should allow supporters to manage their ticket(s) and release where necessary.

A full guide on how to release your seat is in the club article here - https://www.hibernianfc.co.uk/article/edinburgh-derby-sold-out-ticket-exchange

Season Ticket Holders will receive 50% of the sale price if their seat is then sold, distributed as a credit to their Hibernian FC ticketing account. This credit can then be used against the cost of a 2024/25 Season Ticket

The post I was responding to was regarding a £36 ticket for the sheep at home. Awful pricing as evidenced by the thousands of empty seats, for one of our bigger home fixtures in the calendar. This was also our only home game in a near 7week period, so I’d hope the club will review this going forward to encourage more folk along (same goes for OF games too).

Xmas evening derby selling out, would be very concerned if it didn’t given that it’s our highest profile game of the league season.

I’m quite aware of what constitutes a charity - I just feel that the club has lost its community feel in recent years IMO. (Charging folk to have their bairns birthday message read out on the tannoy at ER , charging folk to allow their bairns to be mascots, only to then walk out with the Leith Lynx etc)

The Hibernian community foundation does lots of work at the stadium throughout the week and is doing 500 people on Christmas Day. That is hardly a club who are losing their community feel. This sort of thing gets raised regularly. The club has to increase income to keep us progressing, the community part of the club is doing loads of great work. The HCF website highlights what they do. While I don’t agree with some of our pricing for our tickets I can’t think of any other way we can increase our income. We don’t have a rich sugar daddy who will subsidise us like our friends across the city
