Enjoyed that. These guys can be truly inspiring if the players, especially the young guys buy into it. Mental toughness can be taught and is needed for us to have success.

What an insight the guy has. So interesting.
The whole point about Brazilian's loving a meg where we clap a tackle is so accurate.
Football is a global sport but it’s so different. Great interview. Love the guy.

Really fascinating interview, what an intelligent guy. I think all the wannabee Football Managers on here need to watch this before questioning our management team. These guys clearly know what they're doing and we as supporters should be fully supporting them on achieving these goals :flag::flag:

The line were he says " it worked at CCM and it will work here too " I thought showed how much belief the management have in what there doing at Hibs and as someone that has concerns about how we play ! . I did find listening to Sergio very encouraging. Must be great being a player coming into training with a guy like Sergio at the club.

What a great listen that was. He’s an interesting, engaging and a real likeable guy.
Interesting that he strives to be the best assistant he can be rather than look upon the role as a stepping stone into management.
I don’t think you can underestimate the contribution he’s made to Tavares’ impressive improvement.

You sound like your already against the guy btw . All management teams are judged on results though this one hasn't even had a transfer window yet and even with the January one we mighten get what we need as it's according to other managers the hardest one to get any business done in . As long as we finish top 6 this year they should be allowed to put there own stamp on the team in the summer imo 👍

You can still have an opinion on the interview though 😂
I don’t think anybody is suggesting the interview gives them free rein to be a complete disaster on the pitch because he talks well and seems like a good guy.

I wonder if we will see any players arrive at Hibs in January from his many contacts around the world? I’d seen fans have been linking us with a lot of old CCM players, this guy might actually have some better contacts?

Yep his personal story is pretty phenomenal to be honest irrespective of his role at our club.. 6 languages worked in numerous countries and cultures, special forces. Imo you can't get enough of these sort of can do characters within an organisation to motivate and inspire people.

Nonsense, why shouldn't we get to know the coaching staff, has nothing to do with results, and we did win our last game

very interesting guy. his wife previously coming to Edinburgh to learn English is another happy coincidence in his story. Being prepared to go well out his comfort zone to experience other cultures and languages shows a very focused pursuit of his own development. Also his clear choice early on to be a No.2 is interesting. I have seen many be promoted to 'the boss' due to years in post / last man standing who clearly were not cut out for it. the team of No1 / No2 who are both comfortable with that is pretty positive. looking forward to see the development and progress from academy players too.
I predict that Melkerson will turn out to reach the potential we signed him for under the new coaching staff :greengrin

To be fair, there’s hardly been any negativity. Two negative posts is all I’ve seen and one of them coming from someone who has clearly made their mind up about Montgomery and refuses to give him a fair go.

The interview from Sergio was probably one of the best I've seen from anyone at Hibs and considering we won our last game and are only four points off 3rd place I'm surprised there's even been two negative post at all .

You compare Sergio to Lee. They are like chalk & cheese and he’s just the assistant. We seem to be in good hands.
I also get the feeling we could see one or two Mariners heading over.

I’m wondering if we might look at getting young players from Benfica. He was clearly highly regarded there and has good contacts. They only need to look at the difference he’s made to Jair to see we are a club they can trust their players with now.

really impressed with this interview - for folk complaining that he can't be that good because we've drawn a few games need to listen to this in-depth, and then listen again. in any leadership team you need to inspire, set the moral compass, give the team the skills they need (or recruit better) and support folk to hit the best outcomes they can.
from listening to him, he's totally authentic, has made himself vulnerable in his life in order to improve, and has a ttrack record of contributing to meaningful success at previous clubs. we really are very fortunate to have him here, I only hope that sir David and Big Day spend as much time as possible learning from him as within a few years I'm sure him and Nick will be moving on to bigger and better opportunities.

Loved the interview! What an interesting and articulate guy. Really impressed with the coaching team as people, a huge improvement. Also loved how he's having fun with SDG, shows that they've 100% brought him into their fold and treating the legend right.
