Good for them but terrible for us.
Hope neither of them are friendlies.
Awful for Hibs.

Why would it be awful for Hibs?
It’s in an international window.

A lot of travel to and fro, risk of getting injured in international duty.
I don't agree, think its great for our players to get international recognition but those are the arguments for

They are just as likely to get injured in a bounce game which will no doubt be arranged for the rest of the squad.
Travel is certainly a disruption to normal day to day stuff, and yes, it would be better if the games were at Hampden, but it’s commonplace for a lot of players these days.

Wonder if Boyle will go given his injury scare at the weekend. May make sense to let him rest up a bit especially given the travelling. Definitely good for Miller.

Boyle needs to rest. If he wasn’t fit enough for us last night he shouldn’t go away with the national team

Couldn’t agree more. Be saying the same if it was Scotland he was playing for by the way.

Hopefully there is a bit common sense here and Boyle isn’t flying all over the world to play in games that Australia will win easily without him. He’s just back off a long injury and clearly been struggling recently. We’ve had to leave him out twice in the last week to look after him and take him off in a semi final. Needs a rest during the break and when you chuck the travelling in this is the exact opposite.

Agreed. Not sure how much say the club have in these situations but no way should he be going anywhere, let alone to the other side of the world for a couple of friendlies when they already know all about his abilities.

He's still in a state of shock at being on the same park as Lionel Messi. :cb

So does that ‘absolute’ view change if he plays against Kilmarnock on Saturday?

Very strange. It’s not as if the A League is a great standard.

Indian curries can be lethal, Cummings ring is probably the size of a car tyre due to over consumption 🫢

Think I ask this every time an Australia squad or team is picked but is there any Australian players in the squad we could be interested in?

I don't know the answer but I bet NM has a couple on his radar.

Yes, but I think there are only 3 or 4 A League players in the squad, if you do in fact mean A League players….and one of them has already played for us.
The others are already playing with clubs outside Australia……notably a fair contingent in Scotland.

Mate, I’ll pass on that one as it has been done to death a hundred times, and the perception of the standard of any particular league is subjective.
I do though think that most of the footballing world would think the A League was of a higher standard than the Indian one.
FWIW, very few of the Oz squad actually play in the domestic competition…….that’s at least something the Socceroos have in common with the likes of Brazil

I'd be surprised if the standard of the A League is much lower than the SPL if you removed Celtic and Rangers.

Ohhhh…you’ve gone and set them off now!😂
I would imagine hibs and Australia have a decent relationship and they will do what’s best for Boyle
We trusted them at World Cup , was it not infact them who found his injury

Treated him too IIRC.
Yep, at the Qatari world renowned medical centre, and then put him on the backroom staff so that rather than immediately go home, he stayed for the World Cup and was eligible for a share of what the team earned from its run in the finals….about $300k if I remember correctly.
Certainly doesn’t suggest to me they are likely to treat him in an uncaring cavalier manner when it comes to his well being by playing him if he’s unfit on arrival.

First time I’ve heard the term friendlies used when it comes to World Cup qualifiers, but this IS Hibsnet I suppose, and it’s not exactly renowned for accuracy.

To be fair I would tend to agree, Boyle should absolutely not be travelling the globe to play a couple of pub teams (qualifier or not), when the club that pays his wages has been forced to use him sparingly

He might be Klopp in disguise. He has history of moaning that Scotland are selecting Robertson for "friendlies" when they are competitive fixtures
