We had twelve points after twelve games. Same as this year.
We finished 11th, but no playoff system was in operation then. It isn't great and I hope we click soon.

Surprised we didn't get chucked out of the league for cheating.

This season feels odd in that there are at least 3 games we should have won but didn't. Killie away, Ross County at home and tonight. An extra 6 points on the board has us level on points with St Mirren (deducting one from them for tonight). Fact is though we didn't see those games out and we have conceded the joint most goals in the league so the could haves and should haves don't mean a lot.
I don't think we are in any real relegation trouble though. We have scored more goals than anyone outside the top 3 and 10 more than St Johnstone, 8 more than Livi and 6 more than Ross County. Avoiding releagtion shouldn't be our aspirations of course and we can't afford too many more slip ups if we don't want 3rd or even 4th to get away from us.
Saturday is another tough game and very much the proverbial 6 pointer. McInnes has Killie motoring again after a blip. Our next 5 is:
Killie home
Dundee away
Aberdeen home
Celtic away
Livingston away
Not as favourable a run of fixtures as some have suggested but is 9 or 10 points really that unrealistic?
It is a concern that the story of the last couple of seasons has been 'x, y or z are only so many points ahead' or 'if we win this, that or the other then we'll be fine'. We have spent a lot of time gazing upwards but never really put the results together to get there. That needs to change. The season isn't close to done but we simply have to start putting 3 points at a time on the board soon.
I don't feel like it compares to 11/12 at all though.

.
We don’t win football matches, so I’d say it probably is unrealistic.

9 or 10 points? Seriously? I think that's very unrealistic. I hope I'm wrong of course but I can't see us getting more than 6/7 points from that run. Our current form, paper thin squad and inability to defend does not fill my with confidence for that run of fixtures.
But footballs a funny old game, win on Saturday has to happen. If we don't, and end up winless by the time we visit Livingston I don't think Montgomery will be with us much longer.

I'm not concerned about relegation, but we need to win a tight game now and then to get top 6 instead of chucking away leads

I think we're in serious trouble. We have a knack for not winning games and snatching draws from the hands of victory. Seen this play out before, most recently under Maloney when we wasted chance after chance to win and get in the top six. Chance after chance to win under Butcher and avoid a play off. The term Hibsed it is popping up all over the place again. We've a weak mentality. Soft as ****. Teams must love playing us.

Despite our poor defensive record, Rocky and Fish look solid as centre halves.

I don’t think they’re a good centre half pairing. Individualy good enough. As a 2? Not for me.

Considering only Rangers have beaten us in the league since the manager arrived they can't love it that much.

Fish won almost all his headers last night although he did have a couple of dodgy moments when trying to play out from the back. Rocky was pretty solid. I'm concerned that as a team we are not a defensive unit. Saints had a lot of crosses last night and a better team will punish us.

Unfair on Sodje. He saved us from relegation IMO.
