I heard the poppy seller was knocked over in a crowd surge in Waverley station but the right wing media making out he was ‘attacked by the mob’. Griffin just trying to stir things up and his attempts to demonise Hibs fans is pathetic.
It’s also a fact the poppy seller and his generation fought against Nazis like Griffin.
They literally shot Nazis and Fascists, so they would not want anything to do with Griffin and his hateful pals.

Ah so you have a vested in interest in making out it didn't happen because your pals were there. Understood.
No reason to believe the old boy is a liar, easily could have been punched by a couple of the less savoury members of the protest in amongst a crowd and not seen on CCTV. We don't know what happened.

There's every reason to doubt this individual.
And he wasn't 'in amongst a crowd' at the time of the claimed attack, you can see in the video there is plenty space around them & no interaction with the protesters.

There is quite clearly a crowd around him in the images I've seen, he said he was punched in the back and the side. That quite easily could have happened as someone walked past him. It's really not that unbelievable.
Yes, I absolutely have a vested interest. I dislike these protests and the scenes we have witnessed throughout the UK of intimidation, violence and support of genocidal terrorists (by a minority). I happen to choose to believe the charity worker who was taking time out of his life to do some good.

What an absolute prick bringing Hibs fans into this - assuming in his ignorance that we are cookie cutter replicas of the ambulance chasing Celtic support.
If the poppy seller guy was indeed assaulted then it's a disgrace and I'd like to see the perpetrators clobbered by the justice system regardless of what football team they support or religion they believe in.
There ought to be room in people's heads and hearts for supporting oppressed peoples such as the Pslestinians AND showing respect to remembrance of war dead. Its not an either/or situation.

As much as I normally disagree with you…but the photos I have seen in the press the poppy seller has a Royal Signals cap badge in a black beret and also the parachute regiment in a burgundy beret….normally other regiments who are part of an airborne division, regardless if they have completed P Company, wear their own cap badge in a burgundy beret.

There are a lot of images circulating that suggests he has quite an extensive collection of military caps and assorted paraphernalia, including an SAS belt.
Little evidence to suggest any assault took place and people can make their own assumptions with the evidence out there. Obviously Griffin did and cast a unsavoury slur on Hibs supporters whilst doing so. The police didn’t appear to think there was anything to merit further action.

That's because it didn't happen. A daft auld right wing fantasist by the sounds of things. A protest he didn't agree with, made up a story and ran straight to the daily mail with it.
In the main foyer of Scotland's busiest train station, probably the most watched area of the entire country alongside airports, but not one bit of evidence to suggest he was assaulted. It's not an Argos CCTV camera covering the station, with ever increased terror attacks there will cameras all over the place, especially in the main area which is flanked by old vehicle access ramps. If he was kicked and punched, it would be picked up. All the camera phones and eye-witnesses and not one person coming forward either.
Not the first time a Para (if he actually is one) of his age has made things up...

I was going through Waverley when the protestors arrived and stopped to watch. I was approx 10 feet away from the poppy seller. Not only was he not attacked, he didn't even fall over. There was space around him the entire time. He walked out of the crowd with people making way for him and enlisted four Scot Rail staff to help him fold up the stall.
The Royal British Legion put out a statement this week saying they have had zero reports of poppy sellers being harassed. There is CCTV all over Waverley. If there was a shred of truth in this story videos would be in the news as proof of protestor violence.

Can whoever reported this to Police be charged with wasting Police time. It is a great example of the right wing press over reacting to a non story so they can push right wing nutjobs buttons. This story will be referenced countless times by those that support the politicisation of the Poppy despite there being not a shred of evidence from what we can gather.

Thank God they were "guarding" the Cenotaph yesterday, from the Police it would seem on this occasion given 9 or so officers needed treatment.
Seems the bell ends in London were hell bent on trouble…. Trying to disrupt a Remembrance parade to honour the fallen.

Nick Griffin is, as said earlier, Pond Life & he and his EDL type 'Always English' (ex-BNP of course & joined the National Front at 14, 'past' anti-semitic Holocaust denier) are
thriving on Braverman's bile.
The cease-fire marches were just that, the Met themselves have confirmed that almost all the physical violence & injuries to police was almost exclusively a
result of the Far-right nutters.
That's the reality, unlike Braverman's suggestion that the Met are a bunch of lefties.
