This is killing us and has done for years.
No point having the best attacking players ever if none of them can ****ING convert.

Same problem for years, hopefully Monty sees this and has some ideas going forward, could do with a transfer window.

We scored and we had a stonewall penalty not given. In big games, those decisions actually matter

100%
But I really liked our performance and think it’s a huge positive.
Brave, composure, attacking and organised.
I really like Miller, but he needs to get that attempt to gain fouls all the time out of his game. He’s cost that for the club and his team mates today.
3 minutes after Aberdeen getting a man sent off and he does that.

What chances?
Obita cutting it back to Tavares who had his shot blocked from about 6 yards
Ventes effort that Devlin done brilliant to somehow deflect wide
Tavares when he skinned the full back and either the keeper saved or centre half made a brilliant block again
Doidge header
The offside goal
I’m sure there’s more too

Probably the worst thing that could have happened was Aberdeen having a player sent off. Hibs have no idea how to break down a 10 man defence.

Convert chances?
We barely ****ing create any chances to convert.
Spent 700k on a striker to have him arsing about 10 yards outside the 18yd box.
Absolutely pish.

It's not just a conversion issue. Aberdeen scored from a one on one because they were direct. We couldn't create a single chance like that in the game. We over pass, make far too many needless one-two passes that slow the play right down which gives opposition defenders enough time to get back and organize themselves. We then have the upwards task of trying to play through a series of well organized and positioned defenders. Our passing may look good on the eye at times, but it's ultimately inefficient and wasteful.

This. Their keeper made what 1 save?

What is the point in Vente, another who started ok and now contributes nothing, certainly not goals

It would help if he was played as a striker and not asked to keep dropping deep to help out an undermanned midfield.
We'd also get 90 minutes out of him as well.

Apart from the one we did convert.
We would have had the momentum and being the better side may have grown more into the game and made it more comfortable. Outside influence put paid to that.
Was never going to be a game where either side had an abundance of chances. A bit of a war of attrition. Our goal might have ended being enough to get the job done.

Thought you liked VAR and said it Was a great addition, or similar, on another thread. Or was it wrong tonight cos it was against us?

Vente is being squandered at the moment. Need to get the system to feed him instead of forcing him to do a number 10.

We did pretty well against teams going down to 10 men last year.
