I think the majority of hibs fans would be happy with this, but unfortunately unless he put Levitt on the right and Boyle up top, or Levitt as a number 10, it’s not going to happen.

That would be our best XI players on the pitch but obviously not the manager’s preferred system. LJ got criticism for playing, at least what he thought, was his best XI players irrespective of system and show horned them in anywhere. Looks like the opposite will apply for NM…..who’d be a manager🤷🏼

Jair gets the nod in front of Boyle as last night he played better than Boyler has recently but that would be a flick of the coin type decision for me. I think Montgomery will play a 442 with those players except Boyle in alongside Vente with Levitt dropping out. When I say alongside Vente I mean about twenty yards in front of him for most of the game. La Fondre was very poor last night and played longer than usual too so I don't think he will start.

Our best 11 with all our best players playing and every single player would be in their strongest position.

Unfortunately it’ll be a 4-4-2, so it won’t be this and we’ll have numerous players playing in positions/a system that don’t get the best out of them.

To my eyes our best result / performance of the season was the 3-1 Luzern game at ER.

442 and didn't include Jeggo (or Bushiri IIRC) - not so obvious I would suggest

Appreciate that Jeggo has looked solid in CM but we need more creativity in the middle of the park. Default starting 2 CMs have been Newell and Jeggo…….perhaps last night was a better opportunity to see Dylan and Joe together.

We started 4-2-3-1 in that game. Once we went to 4-4-2 last 20 minutes we scored 2 goals.
Same team that started against Celtic with boyle up front for me. Jair deserves to keep his place.

Whatever the personnel, it will 100% be 4-4-2. The boss isn't going to suddenly change the set-up for a game as big as this.
Having said that, I'm firmly in the camp of any team at this level being able to play competently in two or three ways and adapting depending on the opposition or how the game pans out. Mixing things up with a bit of unpredictability can win games. You can argue that playing Boyle and "Yoohoo Anne" (or indeed any 2 from them and Jair) gives us enough of an unpredictable threat but I remain to be convinced that playing both in a midfield 4 serves us best.

The way he has been playing Vente lately would allow you to play Levitt in that position and push Vente right up top. I don’t think we get enough from Vente in the deeper position and would allow us to get one of our better players on the pitch instead of sitting on the bench
