I’m driving to Hampden next week for the first time. Usually go on a bus.

Anyone any idea on best places to park ? Happy to walk a bit rather than get stuck in the traffic parking too close to the stadium.

I tend to park by the Kings Park train station. Only a 10 min walk.

Cheers, I’ve seen a car park on prospect hill road that you can book into for £11. we’re sitting in the north stand so right side of the stadium as well.

I wouldn’t be paying £11 to park, loads of free parking 10 mins walk from the stadium

Where abouts? I also assume that Hampden is not in the low emission zone?

As Dibben says around Kings Park Rd/station is free parking. You can even park on Kings Park Rd
Nearer the stadium is “no parking” on Match days outside residents houses

What’s King’s Park Avenue like, looks decent for South Stand, also what’s it like on the side roads around that area? Google maps shows it a pretty run down area. Appears to be a good few pubs in the area but non seem to get mentioned on here, are they no go areas?

Aikenhead Road area has served us well in the past

I've always parked up by Kings Park, must have been 3 or 4 times.

Car been fine, but traffic along the road after the game but nothing major.

There’s a way out that way where you pick the M8 up way along the road - misses out the nightmare of Polmadie.

Kings Park is a nice area. You can park in the streets around and across from the station, further down you can’t park beside the houses on match day, apart from Kings Park Rd

I head south towards Carlisle so not sure if that would apply to me. Tend to go which way my sat nav says 😁

Yep head towards East Kilbride then join M8 from there.

Aye that’s it - much better way. Polmadie is an absolute nightmare.

Not driven through for a while but used to park in Rutherglen behind the main street. Don't know if the pubs are still there.

That's what I did on a certain visit in 2016.👍

Park the car at Newton train station and get the train into Kings Park. Miss all the traffic around Hampden afterwards.

Is there a lot of trains that way after the game?

I always park somewhere in and around Aikenhead Rd but that means running the Polmadie problem.

I may try Kings Park then and I presume you can’t park anywhere “north” of Kings Park Avenue as you are then in the area for residents only

19.34 and 20.04. 10 min journey. £3.60 return.
