Reading Rodgers bleating on about away tickets and wondered how many do we get when we go west?

Think that’s about right
1.5% of Parkhead capacity
1.8% of Ibrox capacity

There has been occasion where that number has been slightly more - around the 1100 mark.

I can remember when I first started going to Ibrox we got all of, or most of the lower tier in Broomloan. Through time that decreased as Rangers crowds increased before the corner became the visitors section after those areas were filled in. We would take what felt some pretty large crowds to Celtic when it was PATG on their vast terraces behind the goals. Probably felt like it was larger but certainly the numbers were much higher than the allocations we receive now.

For many fans though, trips to Ibrox/Parkhead simply just doesn’t appeal, and the allocations are probably just about right. I don’t think we’d be taking much more to be honest.

Thanks gents.

If we pretend tinycastle holds 20k, they are being given just over 3% of the ground and moaning about it. The real figure is probably nearer 3.5% as they have 632 tickets. Canny see anyone getting 2000+ tickets in Glasgow so Rodgers need told to bolt

They where banging on about this the other night on clyde super scoreboard ( I no I no I was painting needed a football fix) seem to think that hearts are being selective with allocations because they give us the full stand, I don’t know what’s more shocking, I’m still surprised by their attitude towards the rest or the fact they can’t spot the glaring hypocrisy with what they are saying we get less of a % of their stadium capacity than they are moaning about and now they are turning the fact we get more tickets at the derby as some sign it’s personal, they’ve ruined the old firm derby with there tickets tantrums and now see an agreement to protect that here as a slight on them it’s unreal

Would love to see the day when they get 0 tickets.

Without even getting into the whole issue of turning away OF fans when there's empty seats in the home end, how hard would it be to give a reasoned view where, for example, a Celtic manager said they would like a bigger away allocation, but could see why a home club would want to maximise their own support.

I'm not even going to read what Rodgers is saying, but I'm going to guess it taps into the entitlement that we all know and love from the west. They are a set/pair of absolute pr!cks.

That's pretty much exactly what he says. He'd like to see the minimum allocation regulated by the 'federation' and as a Celtic manager would prefer to see more Celtic fans in the ground but he understands hearts point of view. He did question why a club wouldn't want to fill an otherwise empty stadium with away fans but did understand there were 'sporting reasons'. It was actually a pretty reasonable stance from him.

This is mentioned everytime we are about to play them. We can't even sell out the home end. So let's lose out on a shed load of cash just to prove a point. Get a grip.

Would we sell 3.5k tickets away for a run of the mill league game in Glasgow. No comparison then really is there.

Coming from a team that offer no tickets to their derby rivals this is extremely rich

I see that Celtic have banned the Green Brigade from away games. That's a bonus if it includes our game and they don't manage to sneak in.

Celtc - "Investigations are ongoing in relation to unsafe behaviour at Motherwell, including rushing turnstiles and forcing open fire exits to permit access to individuals without tickets.”

Why is none if this behaviour publicised because you can be absolutely sure Hibs fans did this it would?

Slightly off track, but can anyone remember how many we took to ibrox in the Scottish Cup game in 2006 (when we won 3-0)?

Was watching the goals on YouTube yesterday and it looked like we had an army behind that goal!

Cup games are slightly different, the away side is entitled to a specified minimum percentage of tickets as part of the rules of the competition. In practicality, it means most home teams offer one of the stands behind the goals

Rangers fans did this at Kilmarnock a few years ago, and had the cheek to accuse Killie of poor Health & Safety and having dangerous areas of the stadium. The same match that the encroached onto the disabled section roof, which subsequently collapsed after having quite a few grown adults on it

Hearts have every right to cut the Old Firm allocation, in order to enable more of their own fans to attend. It’s then up to the home fans to do their part, so it’s a shame there was empty seats in the former away end. Of course, our neighbours aren’t Mensa members, so I will spell it out for them: the idea is that you now occupy those vacated seats. With 400,000 fans, you shouldn’t have any trouble…

The rule in Scottish cup games is that the home club has to offer the visitors a minimum of 20% of seats. Some negotiation is usually done when the OF are the home side, though, due to the size of their stadiums.

There's no such rule in SPFL competitions.
