Are these a thing of the past?
Watching the St Mirren/Rangers game and Gogic has just taken a throw but his foot was about a foot onto the pitch when he let go of the ball.
We regularly do it and I even told my son that Obita needs to change the colour of his boots because it's really easy to see how far his foot is over the touchline.
Anyway, time for my horlicks...........

I mentioned this last season.
So many players lift a foot of the ground when they take a throw in now as well. Chris Cadden was one of the worst culprits for it last season. Same with players being told to move back by the ref, ignoring him and the ref just letting the resultant foul throw go.
I think it's a bit like the 6 second rule. The rules still exist but refs just don't really apply them anymore.

I'm waiting for us to score from a header via a throw in just to have it ruled out by VAR especially when you see dozens of foul throws a game

Don't think VAR can rule out goals because of a foul throw

I think it’s just one of those daft rules that are there but usually get ignored, the game would be even more stop start than usual if we started giving every foul throw.

I’m sure you just have to be touching the line for it to be ok now. Both feet could have only your heels touching the line and you’re ok

You are not allowed to have your feet on the pitch before you release the ball
And bizarrely, one of the rules state that you have to be facing the field of play lol

Consider my mind blown!
I thought the 6 second law had been done away with ages ago.
A quick check on the ifab app and I discover you're correct to highlight this - it's still active!
Why the F do refs never enforce this???

Miller does the same thing on most long throws. The one player who could throw from a foot behind the line and still clear the box.
As another poster says, interesting to see if VAR would get involved.
